From owner feedback to layout
Lagoon has explained how feedback from sailors helped shape the layout of its 47 cruising catamaran. The manufacturer's April design briefing focuses on movement between living areas and adaptable accommodation, rather than simply announcing a model name.
The 47 subsequently appeared in the September Cannes programme, which LYG has covered separately. This follow-up examines design features described by the builder before that appearance.
LYG records the catamaran at 14.95 metres overall, keeping it in the 12.00–23.99-metre editorial category. Its official model photograph accompanies this report and is not presented as a photograph from a new launch event.
A door to the forward cockpit
A door directly links the main saloon with the forward cockpit, a feature intended to make passage between the areas more convenient. Lagoon describes the forward space as around twelve square metres.
That arrangement extends the usable main-deck living area without requiring people to walk all the way around the exterior. Owners should review access and privacy in the actual layout for their intended crew.
The builder also describes a flybridge with seating, sunbathing and broad views over the water. How that space works while sailing and at anchor depends on weather and use.
An adaptable room below
A feature called the SmartRoom offers flexibility beyond a fixed extra cabin. Lagoon says it can be set up for office use, accommodation or another purpose that suits a particular voyage.
Interior style options provide another layer of customisation, according to the manufacturer. Buyers should confirm what is standard and what is optional on a specific production slot.
The official design story says owners and the community contributed feedback during development. That account indicates a consultation process, but not a claim that every individual preference was incorporated.
The difference from a debut story
Technical dimensions and equipment should be checked against the latest specification because model data may change. A design rendering alone is not sufficient to confirm the finished boat's exact configuration.
The source dates to April 2026, so this is a technical retrospective, not new September launch news. It adds onboard-planning detail to LYG's earlier Lagoon 47 Cannes coverage.
