A crew programme built around practical skills
Onboard food and hospitality interest owners of smaller luxury yachts as well as crews on larger vessels. Monaco is bringing practical culinary activities into the crew programme. The Monaco Yacht Show Captains & Crew Lounge is running a three-part culinary masterclass programme during the 2026 event, alongside its usual rest, food and wellness facilities for onboard professionals. The sessions are curated by Maison Del Gusto and are open to chefs, captains and crew attending the show.
The programme is designed as professional development and networking rather than a competition. Places are limited, making advance registration important for crew who want to attend a particular session.
Fermentation opens the series
Former Noma chef and B Culture founder Will Moffat leads the first session on 23 September with The Art of Fermentation. The class focuses on techniques that can add flavour, preservation and variety to a yacht galley without relying solely on conventional preparation methods.
Any fermented food served on board still requires appropriate hygiene, temperature control and allergen management. A demonstration at a trade show does not replace the vessel's food-safety procedures.
Chocolate and dessert follow
Independent Danish chocolatier Mikkel Friis presents World of Chocolate on 24 September, exploring cacao and technique, while yacht chef Margot Laurent leads The Art of Dessert on 25 September. The sequence gives onboard chefs three very different subjects across the show week.
For a yacht chef, the practical value lies in adapting ideas to limited storage, changing guest numbers and the expectations of a private household at sea. The masterclasses provide inspiration rather than a standard menu for every yacht.
The lounge remains a crew base during the show
Breakfast, lunch, Wi-Fi, games and bookable wellness treatments are also part of the Captains & Crew Lounge programme. Crew from exhibiting yachts already have show access, while personnel from yachts outside the exhibition need the appropriate pass arrangements.
