Immediate availability is unusual in a semi-custom market
Performance catamarans are normally ordered well ahead of delivery, with owners waiting through construction and specification. HH says a small surplus of HH44 and HH46 hulls has emerged, creating an opportunity for buyers who want to shorten that process materially.
The significance is less about discounting than timing. An owner with a near-term cruising plan can potentially move into commissioning and final specification without joining the normal queue for a completely new production slot.
Both models remain clearly inside LYG's range
The HH44 and updated HH46 sit around thirteen to fourteen metres overall, placing them above LYG's 12-metre floor while remaining far below the 24-metre superyacht boundary. They are designed for active private owners rather than permanent professional crews.
That size band is large enough for meaningful bluewater systems and family accommodation, but compact enough that berthing, sail handling and maintenance can remain manageable for an experienced owner couple. It preserves direct owner involvement without requiring a permanent professional crew.
The HH46 incorporates lessons from the earlier platform
The updated HH46 standardises longer transom extensions and higher-aspect rudders developed from experience with earlier HH44 hulls. Those changes are intended to refine handling and efficiency while preserving the carbon-intensive construction and performance cruising character of the family.
Buyers considering available hulls therefore need to establish exactly which stage of specification each boat has reached. The closer a hull is to completion, the less freedom remains to alter major systems or layouts without adding cost and delay.
Fast delivery still requires proper specification discipline
An immediately available build slot can create pressure to move quickly, but the yacht still needs to match the owner's intended programme. Energy generation, sail inventory, refrigeration, communications, tender arrangements and safety gear should be reviewed before the attraction of an early delivery date drives the decision.
For LYG buyers, the stock-hull announcement is genuine market news because it changes access to a normally build-to-order product. The opportunity is most valuable when speed of acquisition and the existing specification align with the owner's actual cruising plans.
