Grand Pavois La Rochelle’s 22–27 September 2026 programme gave sustainable retrofit, electric propulsion and hands-on sea experiences a prominent role beside the new-boat displays. The organiser identified nearly 40 participants in its Eco-Navigation and Sustainable Innovations area.
A separate innovation area
The Eco-Navigation and Sustainable Innovations area, supported by EDF, brought builders, start-ups and service specialists together around electric and hybrid craft, sail assistance, lower-impact antifouling, reuse and refit. The official show release describes nearly 40 companies and other participating organisations.
For 12–23.99m owners, retrofitting and extending the life of an existing yacht can be as significant as commissioning the latest hull. A display of equipment, however, does not prove a particular fuel saving or lifecycle outcome aboard a yacht.
Learning on the water
The organiser’s separate 'Sortez en mer' programme let registered visitors experience a variety of boats rather than only examine them from the pontoon. It included sail introductions and supervised outings, subject to individual spaces and suitable conditions.
These experiences were not formal comparative sea trials of every yacht model on show. A buyer should still arrange a detailed inspection and a model-specific sea trial with the builder or dealer.
The broader La Rochelle show
The programme also featured heritage craft, Japan as guest country, marine-safety activity and practical workshops. This combination showed how leisure yachting connects with local skills, watersports and operational safety alongside product launches.
The exhibition ran 22–27 September at the Port des Minimes. The official material available for this report sets out the programme and exhibitors but does not establish an audited 2026 visitor total; no such number is claimed here.
Questions for the next refit
An owner considering solar, electrical-storage or hull-coating improvements should ask for vessel-specific engineering, service arrangements and documented performance. A proposed modification can change weight, access or existing systems, so a show presentation is the start of the discussion rather than the specification.
