An expanded view after Palm Beach
The builder introduced the 520 FLY at Palm Beach earlier in 2026, then released a more detailed model presentation on 31 May. This article examines that new production imagery rather than calling the yacht another September world premiere.
The design continues Galeon's flybridge family while introducing a more contemporary superstructure and glazing. Its relevance to LYG lies in the decisions available to owners commissioning a yacht in the 17-metre category.
How the deck opens to the water
Galeon's side balconies increase overall usable beam when deployed, while the cockpit and galley are organised to support movement between indoor and outdoor dining. The flybridge is arranged as another independent lounge rather than only a second steering station.
The manufacturer quotes 17.2 metres overall and a beam of 4.66 metres with the balconies closed, expanding to 6.66 metres when opened. A berth is selected to accommodate the running dimensions, not the full terrace width available at anchor.
Separate owner access below deck
The three-cabin lower deck has a full-beam owner's suite with its own entrance and bathroom, alongside a forward VIP and a guest cabin with a sliding-bed arrangement. That is a more informative description than treating the builder's stated fourteen-person capacity as an overnight berth count.
Galeon also provides a choice between a crew cabin and a tender garage in the relevant part of the layout. Buyers should request the actual arrangement and check where overnight bags, safety equipment and deck furniture are kept.
Data and specification cautions
The builder lists twin D11-725 power at the top of its engine specification, 1,800 litres of fuel and 650 litres of fresh water, with up to 30 knots maximum speed. Those figures should be checked against the final hull and test conditions before planning an itinerary.
