A second major show for the new FP48

The FP48 arrives in Barcelona shortly after its world premiere in Cannes, giving the new model a second major Mediterranean platform within weeks. Fountaine Pajot has confirmed that the 14.43-metre catamaran will be part of its five-model Port Vell display.

A Spanish debut matters because many prospective owners keep boats around the Balearics, mainland Spain and southern France. Barcelona therefore exposes the FP48 to buyers who may use the yacht in exactly the warm-weather cruising conditions around which its social spaces were designed.

Owner accommodation is a central part of the layout

The FP48 can be configured with three or four cabins, with the owner-focused arrangement dedicating the port hull to a large private suite. Fountaine Pajot also offers a versatile additional room that can be used as storage or adapted into a walk-in wardrobe.

This approach reflects a wider shift in cruising catamarans toward more residential owner spaces rather than simply maximising berth count. For private buyers, that can make the yacht more comfortable over longer periods aboard without moving into a much larger overall length.

Indoor and outdoor spaces are designed to connect

A wide sliding door links the cockpit and saloon, while the galley is positioned centrally between the main living areas and forward circulation. The layout is intended to make the interior feel less compartmentalised and to support the type of open social use common in Mediterranean cruising.

Additional lounging areas are spread across the aft cockpit, roof and foredeck so guests do not need to gather in one place. That distribution of space can be particularly useful on a multihull where owners expect several different zones for dining, relaxing and enjoying the water.

Barcelona lets buyers compare the FP48 directly

The FP48 will appear alongside the FP41, FP44, FP55 and Samana 59, giving visitors a useful set of reference points within the same brand. Buyers can therefore judge how much additional volume and equipment the FP48 brings over smaller models before considering the larger alternatives.

For an owner shopping around the 14-to-15-metre catamaran sector, that side-by-side comparison can be more valuable than specifications alone. The Barcelona show runs from 14 to 18 October 2026 at Port Vell.
