Fountaine Pajot adds three Indian Ocean markets

Fountaine Pajot has appointed Destination Yacht to distribute its catamarans in the Seychelles, Mauritius and Réunion. Destination Yacht is the international-expansion arm of French dealer group Marine West, taking the company beyond its established base in southern Brittany.

Marine West already represents several recreational marine brands through four locations in France and employs about 45 people. The Indian Ocean agreement gives the group responsibility for Fountaine Pajot sales across three island markets with strong charter and cruising activity.

Charter management will sit alongside new-boat sales

The expansion is not limited to dealership activity, with Destination Yacht planning charter-management services in the Seychelles and Mauritius. Owners will be able to place boats into managed rental programmes during periods when they are not using them privately.

That combination can be important in island markets where charter revenue forms part of the ownership model for many multihulls. It also gives the distributor a continuing relationship with the boat after delivery through management, local support and operational services.

Indian Ocean cruising remains important for large multihulls

The Seychelles, Mauritius and Réunion combine established tourism with cruising grounds well suited to shallow-draft catamarans. Wider dealer and support coverage can make those regions more practical for owners who want local service rather than relying on support routed through Europe.

For Fountaine Pajot, the appointment extends the brand’s commercial footprint into a region where multihulls are already prominent in charter and private cruising. The next measure will be whether the new distribution structure converts local demand into sustained sales and a reliable after-sales network across the three islands.
