BENETEAU unveiled the Swift Trawler 43 Fly during the Cannes Yachting Festival from 8 to 13 September, placing the new model alongside the Gran Turismo 40 Open as one of its two motor-yacht world premieres. The 43 enters a range that has spent more than two decades refining the idea of comfortable, relatively efficient cruising in an owner-manageable size.
Official show data gives the Swift Trawler 43 Fly an overall length of 13.13 metres and an overall beam of 4.25 metres. Those dimensions keep the yacht comfortably within Luxury Yacht Guide’s 12.00-to-23.99-metre remit while providing enough volume for a genuine flybridge, substantial interior living and the practical storage expected from a cruising design.
A new step in the Swift Trawler family
BENETEAU describes the new 43 as an evolution of its established cruising formula rather than a change of direction. The priorities remain autonomy, comfort and straightforward operation, with the yacht intended for owners who want to spend longer periods aboard without moving into the scale and complexity of a much larger motor yacht.
The model sits between the compact Swift Trawler 37 and the larger 48 and 54, creating a logical progression for owners who want more space than the entry models provide. That position is significant because the low-forty-foot category often has to balance marina practicality against the accommodation and deck area required for longer cruises.
The flybridge expands usable living space
The Fly version uses the upper deck to create a second helm and another social area without adding substantial overall length. On a yacht of 13.13 metres, that extra level can make a material difference during warm-weather cruising because guests can remain outside with the skipper while the main saloon stays available as a separate retreat.
