An owner-operated power catamaran heads to Port Vell
Aventura Yachts has placed the 38 Fly motor catamaran in the official Barcelona International Boat Show fleet for October 14 to 18, 2026. The 11.95-metre design will be displayed afloat at Port Vell, providing a chance to assess the relatively large outdoor living spaces offered by a twin-hull yacht in the compact luxury segment.
The Tunisian manufacturer designed the model with Lasta Design Studio, concentrating on cabin privacy and adaptable deck space rather than relying exclusively on a large enclosed saloon. The builder has presented the 38 Fly as an owner-oriented motor yacht, not a high-speed racing catamaran.
The current show listing confirms the model and its approximate length and beam, but it does not identify the engine installation aboard the particular display boat. Buyers should therefore distinguish published model options from equipment verified on the yacht they can actually inspect.
A 15-square-metre flybridge is the centre of the design
Aventura highlights a flybridge of approximately 15 square metres, with sunbathing space, a dedicated dining area and an outdoor galley. That level is intended to be a principal part of life aboard rather than simply an upper helm platform used during a short journey.
Elsewhere, the model features a large aft bathing platform, with an immersion arrangement available depending on the selected equipment. Folding side terraces are also among the options intended to create greater connection with the water while the yacht is safely stationary.
Outdoor deck space is a major attraction on a warm-weather yacht, although furniture, rails, securing points and suitable shade matter in practical use. In particular, an owner should verify what weight limits apply to bathing platforms and which arrangements can be used safely in different sea conditions.
Three cabins provide separation for family cruising
The manufacturer's principal three-cabin layout places an owner's suite within one hull and two guest cabins in the other. The configuration creates a degree of privacy rarely found in shorter single-hull dayboats, making the model relevant to couples who sometimes travel with visiting family.
The main saloon and its glazing are intended to provide broad views, while the distribution of galley and seating areas helps the crew move between interior and exterior spaces. The useful test is not simply the apparent volume, but whether supplies, clothing and routine equipment can be kept secure over a longer passage.
The published beam is 5.63 metres, considerably wider than that of many single-hull motorboats around 12 metres in length. That extra width benefits accommodation, yet it also affects marina charges, berth choice and travel-lift availability.
Diesel or electric drive choices require careful planning
Aventura quotes twin Yanmar diesel configurations rated at either 250 or 370 horsepower and an electric alternative using two 100-kilowatt motors. The boat's fuel tankage is listed at 1,200 litres across two tanks, and fresh-water capacity totals approximately 400 litres.
Buyers should not assume that identical performance or range is available from all of these installations. A conventional diesel yacht and an electric version have different charging, reserve and maintenance requirements, and the builder's final installed specification is decisive.
A prospective owner who regularly crosses exposed water should ask for sea-trial figures with the yacht loaded as it would be for travel. Berthing at slow speed, sightlines from the flybridge and machinery access beneath living spaces may be more important than a headline maximum speed.
The photograph accompanying this article is an actual image of the 38 Fly's outdoor deck from the manufacturer's own gallery, not a generated yacht exterior or a picture of a different Aventura model. Barcelona visitors can use the on-water display to inspect how that deck space works alongside the yacht's three-cabin arrangement.
