Sunfinder 38 makes a Greek show appearance

AIATA and Greek distributor Octana Yachts have confirmed the Sunfinder 38 for the sixth Olympic Yacht Show at Olympic Marine in Lavrio from 15 to 18 October 2026. The 11.6-metre open motor cruiser will be available to visitors at Booth 25, bringing the Turkish-owned brand's Finnish-designed approach to a market where fast day cruising and island passages are particularly relevant.

The official announcement was released on 12 October and identifies Octana as AIATA's partner for the Greek market. The Sunfinder 38 has previously been presented internationally, so the development is a confirmed local exhibition rather than an entirely new model or an unannounced world launch.

AIATA is developed by Anadolu Motor within the wider Anadolu Group and has been expanding its European distribution network. Octana separately announced its relationship with the boatbuilder earlier in 2026, making the Lavrio display a practical next step for owners seeking a local point of contact.

Jarkko Jämsén brings a Nordic approach to an open cruiser

The Sunfinder 38 was designed by Finnish designer Jarkko Jämsén and aims to combine fast handling with the generous social spaces expected of a Mediterranean day yacht. AIATA describes the concept as an SUV of the Seas, emphasising versatility between relaxed days at anchor and higher-speed journeys between destinations.

A particularly distinctive feature is the bow lounge, which operates as a second social cockpit rather than simply providing sun pads forward. Guests can gather near the bow while a separate seating area aft offers another place to eat, relax or prepare for watersports.

That layout creates choices about how passengers use the boat during the day, but owners should also assess circulation, handholds and safe access to the bow in different sea conditions. Spaces that are inviting in calm weather still need to support practical seamanship and secure movement.

Performance must be considered in context

AIATA gives the Sunfinder 38 a stated maximum speed of up to 53 knots, reflecting its sporty design and available outboard propulsion. A published maximum is not the same as a guaranteed cruising speed for every engine configuration, sea state or passenger load.

Other published reference figures include an approximate 3.5-metre beam, 850 litres of fuel and 200 litres of fresh water. The balance between speed, usable fuel, guest numbers and real range will depend on how the vessel is equipped and operated.

For Greek island cruising, fast passages can be attractive when suitable conditions allow, but weather in the Aegean can change quickly. Prospective owners should ask for performance information under realistic loading and evaluate spray protection, helm visibility, emergency access and the comfort of passengers seated throughout the boat.

Routine equipment support also matters for a comparatively new brand in a national market. Buyers should establish warranty arrangements, availability of propulsion service technicians and access to replacement components before making decisions based solely on a boat-show demonstration.

What Lavrio visitors can learn

The October show provides a chance to inspect the Sunfinder 38 in person, particularly its bow lounge, wide open decks and the way the helm connects to the main cockpit. Such details are difficult to assess from promotional videos yet can affect the pleasure and practicality of everyday ownership.

Octana's position as the authorised distributor gives local buyers a specific organisation to question about delivery schedules, registration, commissioning and after-sales service in Greece. The companies have not announced a sale at the show or an order figure in the October release.

Visitors considering longer overnight trips should also confirm what enclosed shelter, sleeping arrangements and storage are provided by the actual displayed configuration. A versatile day cruiser can be a very different ownership proposition from a flybridge yacht designed primarily for extended accommodation.
