Absolute Yachts has presented the Navetta 50 as one of three Navetta world premieres at the 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival. At 14.95 metres overall, the new model brings the Italian builder’s volume-focused cruising approach into a compact footprint while retaining a full flybridge and a strong connection with the sea.
Absolute describes the Navetta 50 as “The Absolute Calypso” and highlights bright interiors, an open-air flybridge and a terrace-style cockpit continuing directly into the saloon. The arrangement is intended to make the aft part of the yacht feel like one connected living area rather than a sequence of enclosed zones.
Compact dimensions with serious cruising space
The Navetta 50 measures 14.95 metres in length with a beam of 4.67 metres. Absolute lists a maximum capacity of 14 people, a 1,800-litre fuel capacity and 530 litres of fresh water, placing the yacht firmly in the family-cruising category rather than the day-boat market.
The model’s beam is particularly important to its interior proposition. On a yacht below 15 metres, usable width can have a greater effect on perceived space than length alone, especially through the saloon, lower-deck cabins and circulation routes.
Twin IPS650 propulsion
Power comes from twin Volvo Penta D6-IPS650 units, each rated at 320kW according to Absolute’s specification. IPS is widely used in this sector because the pod arrangement can combine manoeuvrability with efficient machinery packaging, helping preserve more internal volume for accommodation.
The propulsion choice also supports the type of use Absolute is targeting: coastal cruising, marina manoeuvring and longer stays aboard without moving into the complexity of a much larger yacht. The Navetta 50 carries a Category B rating in the builder’s published specification.
One of three new Navettas at Cannes
The 50 is appearing at Cannes alongside the new Navetta 58 Andromeda and Navetta 66 Aurora, giving Absolute three world premieres within the same range. That makes the show an unusually significant product moment for the builder.
Within the under-24-metre market, the Navetta 50 is particularly relevant because it combines the layered deck plan of a larger cruising yacht with dimensions that remain accessible to owners who do not want to move into superyacht scale. It also gives Absolute an entry point for buyers who want the Navetta concept without stepping immediately into the upper end of the range.
What buyers should compare
The attraction of a compact Navetta will depend on how effectively the layout balances accommodation with service access, storage and outdoor living. Buyers should look beyond the visual impression of volume and examine the practical routes between cabins, machinery spaces and deck areas.
The model’s published tankage and IPS installation suggest a yacht intended for more than short local trips. Sea-trial behaviour, noise levels and usable storage will be the next factors that determine how convincing the Navetta 50 is as an extended-cruising platform.
