Barcelona International Boat Show's published on-water catalogue identifies two Absolute motor yachts within Luxury Yacht Guide's size remit: the 14.90-metre 48 Coupé and the 14.95-metre Navetta 50. Both are listed for the Fusta display area at Port Vell from 14 to 18 October 2026. Their near-identical overall lengths disguise two different approaches to private yacht ownership.
Similar lengths, different concepts
The catalogue gives a beam of 4.52 metres for the 48 Coupé and 4.67 metres for the Navetta 50. A difference of 15 centimetres in published beam alone will not determine onboard quality, but it has real implications for berth planning and contributes to the way a vessel's accommodation can be arranged.
The Coupé designation points towards a lower-profile enclosed sporting form, while the Navetta line is associated with a more upright cruising approach. Buyers should look carefully at the actual deck and interior plans for the exhibited boats rather than assume identical capabilities from the badge. A protected helm, usable galley, room to socialise and safe access to the side decks all matter on journeys longer than a brief sea trial.
Why the boat-list entry matters
The show catalogue is a useful primary source because it identifies particular craft, measurements and a waterside location rather than merely confirming a manufacturer's participation. It classifies both as power yachts and indicates on-water display. Nevertheless, show inventories are subject to adjustment. An official listing does not guarantee a specific hull will be available for a private demonstration at a preferred hour.
Port Vell gives buyers a chance to assess marina-side activities such as boarding from a pontoon, gangway height, transom use and access for guests with luggage. These are mundane details, but they determine how easy a yacht is to use during ordinary weekends.
The practical comparison below 15 metres
For families who spend most of their cruising time at anchor, cockpit connection to the sea and shaded exterior seating may lead the decision. Owners who cruise through shoulder seasons may prioritise protected saloon space, enclosed helm visibility and the ability to keep guests comfortable while the weather changes.
The published beams should be compared with marina berth limits, local wind exposure and turning room. A buyer planning to berth in a compact harbour should also inspect how mooring lines, fenders and onboard storage are managed on the actual model.
An on-water purchase opportunity
The 2026 show has more than 200 vessels across its wider range, according to Fira de Barcelona, making the event a useful multi-brand comparison point. For LYG, the more focused story is the appearance of two clearly eligible Absolute yachts with different configurations at almost the same length. Their relative suitability cannot be inferred from numbers alone; the exhibition creates an opportunity to test the ergonomics that follow from those designs.
