Southern California is getting a deliberately Alpine holiday setting this December as Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village unveils a winter-village programme. The hotel's plan combines festive scenery and dining with hands-on activities and seasonal spa treatments.
Rather than promoting a snowy climate that the area does not have, the resort is creating a theatrical setting for guests who want winter rituals close to Los Angeles. The programme runs across a series of dated experiences rather than one universal festive package.
Snowfall without an Alpine flight
The front drive is scheduled to feature artificial snowfall every half-hour between 5pm and 8pm from 1 December through 1 January. The effect is part of a seasonal arrival experience with lighting and decorations.
Suite guests can arrange an in-room Christmas tree prepared before arrival, provided it is requested when booking. The decorated tree is not listed as an automatic inclusion in every room.
A fondue evening at Prosperous Penny
Prosperous Penny is introducing an Alpine fondue for two from Mondays to Fridays beginning 1 December, priced at US$55 before taxes and gratuities. Gruyère is served with sourdough, fingerling potatoes, cornichons and Bündnerfleisch.
An alternative weekend menu called Après Ski Girl Dinner includes caviar-topped fries, steak tartare and Caesar salad. Its announced price is US$65 per person, separate from the weekday fondue.
Other tables join the celebration
Onyx will run yakitori nights with Wagyu skewers and seasonal dishes from Wednesdays to Saturdays. Coin & Candor has separate Christmas Eve and Christmas Day menus, while The Hamptons plans a holiday buffet.
These are different restaurant experiences and timings, not one menu being served throughout the property. Guests should select the restaurant and date that match their itinerary.
A spa and family programme
The wider festive announcement includes workshop activities and seasonal wellbeing choices to complement the dining. Families and couples can build an itinerary around evening snowfall and daytime hotel facilities.
Advance reservations remain important for treatments, meals and suite enhancements. The published dates and prices should be checked against the final confirmation rather than assumed to cover every add-on.
