A new chapter for a Budapest cocktail destination

Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest has appointed Federico Daniele as Bar Manager of MÚZSA, the hotel's Art Nouveau-inspired cocktail venue. Announced on 19 October 2026, the appointment brings an Italian hospitality professional with more than 15 years of international experience to the Hungarian capital.

The move is not a reopening of the hotel or the bar. Its significance lies in the influence a new manager can have on the drinks programme, staff training and the balance between established cocktail traditions and creative seasonal offerings.

From Rome through Europe's bar capitals

Born in Rome, Daniele first worked in hospitality during summers in southern Italy before moving to Amsterdam and London. After building experience in restaurants and kitchens, he became increasingly interested in cocktail service.

He has worked at Aqua Shard and The London EDITION, later joining the opening team of The Barcelona EDITION. His experience also includes Nobu Hotel Barcelona, giving him a perspective that crosses hotel bars, fine dining and modern cocktails.

A classic Barcelona institution

Daniele subsequently joined Boadas Cocktails in Barcelona at the invitation of bartender Simone Caporale. The historic venue gave him a chance to combine a respect for classic recipes with the demands of a modern international clientele.

He spent two years helping develop its beverage programme and team before returning to Rome. Those experiences may prove relevant at MÚZSA, where the setting carries its own architectural identity and guests may expect traditional hospitality alongside new ingredients.

Drink Kong adds an experimental influence

At Rome's Drink Kong, Daniele explored contemporary preparation techniques and unexpected combinations of flavour. The move added a more experimental side to his background in classic drinks and well-established European hotel venues.

A sophisticated cocktail bar needs both identities: a bartender must make familiar drinks reliably while also giving returning guests something new to discover. The new manager's statement emphasises curiosity, training and a guest-centred experience rather than spectacle alone.

Budapest as a source of ideas

Daniele intends to connect MÚZSA's drinks programme with Hungarian ingredients and local stories while drawing on the visual atmosphere of Gresham Palace. The property's Art Nouveau setting offers a distinct backdrop for a cocktail experience.

Guests should not assume that every locally inspired drink has already been introduced. The appointment outlines a direction for future menu development, and the final drinks list should be checked with the venue before visiting.

The low-alcohol personal favourite

The chef of the bar world is often associated with complicated signature mixtures, but Daniele identifies the Adonis as a favourite: a low-alcohol cocktail usually built around sherry, vermouth and bitters. His preference illustrates an appreciation of balance over sheer strength.

The choice also suits the growing interest in lighter aperitif-style drinks, though the alcohol content varies with the recipe. Visitors seeking zero-alcohol alternatives should discuss current options directly with the team.

A reason to visit on a European itinerary

Gresham Palace's position near the Danube and Budapest's Chain Bridge makes it a natural stop for visitors interested in architecture and an evening drink. For yacht travellers extending a Mediterranean holiday inland, the Hungarian capital offers a contrasting urban experience.

A staff appointment does not establish ratings, availability or prices for a particular cocktail service. Guests should consult the hotel's current booking information and any dress or seating requirements before making plans.
