Swiss Bike Builder Matches a Custom Bicycle to His Porsche GT3 RS

Swiss bicycle builder Leon Baldinger has created a custom bike to match his Porsche 911 GT3 RS, bringing two passions into the same colour scheme. The matching design uses Olive Black, exposed carbon, black and yellow details.

The project grows out of Baldinger's work at Leon Bikes in Mellingen, where he specialises in personalised bicycles. It is a private creative build, not a factory-produced Porsche bicycle edition.

Two interests from childhood

Baldinger's family drove him home from hospital in a Porsche 911, and he also developed an early attachment to bicycles. Competitive downhill mountain biking became a major part of his youth.

A serious injury ended his professional mountain-bike ambitions, but his involvement with cycling continued through engineering and craft. He trained as a bicycle mechanic before founding his business.

A workshop founded in 2020

Baldinger sold his car and bicycles to finance the bicycle shop, opening during the difficult pandemic period. The business subsequently expanded and now employs roughly a dozen people, according to Porsche.

Its approach focuses on tailored builds rather than standard bikes selected straight from a catalogue. Paintwork and components can be chosen to match an individual client's preferences.

The first matching project

His earlier 911 GT3 inspired a bicycle finished in matching Arctic Grey. The later GT3 RS prompted an Olive Black build with carbon and yellow highlights.

The project shows how automotive and cycling design can share colours and material cues even though the products serve different purposes. Porsche's story illustrates the owner's personal interests.

A weekend on two and four wheels

Baldinger describes enjoying a morning drive and an afternoon ride, using both machines rather than keeping the bicycle as a static display. The matching look makes them a distinctive pair.
