Grand Hyatt Cancun Beach Resort is expected to open in December 2026 as the brand’s first property in Cancun. The new all-inclusive resort sits within Puerto Cancun, pairing direct marina access with beach facilities, extensive dining and a location that should work particularly well for travellers who want both resort convenience and time on the water.

Puerto Cancun puts the marina beside the resort

The resort is being developed in Puerto Cancun, a gated waterfront district with a marina, golf course, shopping and restaurants. Hyatt says the airport is around 25 minutes away, giving guests a relatively straightforward transfer while keeping them close to both the water and Cancun’s wider attractions.

For LYG readers, the marina connection is more than a background detail. Guests will be able to arrange yacht and sailing experiences nearby, making the property a practical base for a holiday that mixes resort time with private or chartered days on the Caribbean rather than requiring a separate transfer to a distant harbour.

Five hundred rooms include 47 suites

Grand Hyatt Cancun Beach Resort will have 500 guestrooms, including 47 suites, with private terraces facing either the ocean or marina. Select suites add private pools, while Grand Club rooms include access to a dedicated lounge with breakfast, afternoon cocktails and other upgraded services.

The scale is substantial, so this is not an intimate boutique retreat. Its appeal is different: couples and families get the breadth of a large resort while still being able to choose more private accommodation and quieter spaces when they want distance from the main pool and activity areas.

Fourteen dining venues broaden the all-inclusive format

Hyatt is planning 14 food and beverage outlets, ranging from Northern Italian dining at Quattro to sushi and omakase at Fiera San, French cooking at Bistrot Cigalette and Argentine- and Uruguayan-inspired menus at Los Fuegos del Sur. Bars, cafés, poolside venues and casual street-food concepts fill out the programme.

That range matters at an all-inclusive resort because dining variety can determine whether a week-long stay feels convenient or repetitive. The hotel is clearly aiming above the conventional buffet-led formula, giving guests enough choice to vary the pace from a relaxed pool lunch to a more formal dinner without leaving the property.

Nine pools, a beach club and a locally inspired spa

The wellness and leisure programme includes nine outdoor pools, among them an adults-only pool, an infinity pool and a Beach Club pool. The private Beach Club will also offer its own restaurant plus snorkelling, diving, kayaking, windsurfing and paddleboarding.

Ritua Sanctuary Spa will add outdoor relaxation areas, a traditional temazcal and a menu of treatments informed by local traditions. Taken together, the marina, beach, pools and spa give the resort enough range to suit a couple who wants an easy, polished winter escape without having every day structured around organised excursions.
