In northern Thailand, the meeting point of Thailand, Myanmar and Laos provides the inspiration for a new food-led experience at Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle. Roots & Flavours brings guests out of the dining room and into the resort's gardens before returning them to an open-air kitchen.
The programme marks 65 years of Four Seasons by focusing on the particular traditions of its location rather than a standard anniversary menu. It is available until 30 November 2026 according to the resort's official announcement.
The journey starts in the garden
Guests begin with a guided walk alongside the camp's gardeners, gathering seasonal herbs and vegetables and learning how local ingredients are used. This makes the landscape part of the meal rather than treating it simply as a backdrop to a restaurant.
The Golden Triangle's food cultures have been shaped by exchange across national borders and through generations of families. The resort uses the garden visit to introduce that history before participants start cooking.
A charcoal-fired kitchen under bamboo
Camp Chef Sirintip Sianglert, known as Chef Ning, hosts the cooking component, which follows the garden visit. Guests prepare a seasonal three-course meal in an open-air kitchen using traditional charcoal fires.
Chef Ning's own Northern Thai upbringing is part of the experience, alongside references to Myanmar and Laos. The final dishes depend on seasonal produce, so a current menu should be confirmed at the time of booking.
People behind the ingredients
Four Seasons says nearby farmers and local communities are involved in shaping the culinary programme. The emphasis is on meeting the people and understanding the traditions behind the dishes, not merely collecting a set of recipes.
Camp Manager Ashok Nair also participates as a host, connecting the activity to the camp's wider hospitality experience. That personal element is especially relevant to travellers choosing a small-scale destination stay over a large resort programme.
Planning the experience
The camp's Golden Triangle location encourages visitors to spend more than a single meal discovering the region's landscape. Roots & Flavours provides an additional reason to build time into the itinerary rather than treat the destination as a quick stop.
The programme is announced through 30 November 2026, and available dates should be checked with the resort in advance. LYG is reporting the experience as an organised guest activity, not as a general restaurant service open without a booking.
