A new UAE option

IHG is bringing Garner Hotels to the Middle East through two signed properties in the United Arab Emirates. The move introduces the relaxed midscale brand to both Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah.

Garner Hotel Dubai Al Jaddaf and Garner Hotel Ras Al Khaimah Downtown will add a combined 285 rooms. Both are aimed at travellers who want dependable comfort without the complexity of a full luxury resort.

The UAE is a useful launch market because it combines business travel, short leisure breaks and longer resort itineraries. A straightforward hotel can serve guests moving between airports, marinas, city attractions and beaches.

Two useful locations

The Dubai property will sit in Al Jaddaf with access to central districts and transport links. It offers an alternative to the higher-priced waterfront zones while remaining practical for a short city stay.

Ras Al Khaimah has developed quickly as a leisure destination with beaches, mountains and outdoor activities. A downtown Garner broadens the accommodation choice beyond large destination resorts.

Both hotels will focus on the essentials that matter most during a short stop. Good sleep, breakfast and uncomplicated public spaces can be more useful than facilities a guest never uses.

Simple travel done well

Midscale accommodation does not have to feel generic. Garner is intended to combine consistent standards with local touches and relaxed social spaces.

For LYG readers, that formula can work before or after time on the water. A comfortable room in the right location is often more valuable than another layer of formal service.

Why it matters

The signings show how hotel groups are filling the space between economy rooms and five-star resorts. Better design and stronger local identity are increasingly expected even at accessible price points.

Garner’s UAE debut therefore adds a credible high-comfort option without excessive formality. It is a useful development for travellers who value location, consistency and sensible pricing.
