The day at anchor is the main event
Cranchi's 14.25-metre A46 Luxury Tender puts outdoor life at the centre of its design. Rather than separating guests into many enclosed lounges, its walkaround deck connects the cockpit, central dining area and forward seats in one social experience.
The arrangement appeals to owners who leave a marina for a relaxed lunch at anchor and occasionally stay aboard overnight. It is not intended to imitate a much larger fully enclosed long-distance motor yacht.
Terraces open beside the cockpit
Hydraulically operated side bulwarks fold outward to enlarge the area over the water. A movable stern platform can rise to join the opened terraces or lower toward the sea, creating flexible arrangements for swimming and relaxing.
The effect can be dramatic, but operation requires attention to the manufacturer's limits. Open terraces are not appropriate in every sea state or during berthing, and the crew needs to understand how the equipment locks into place.
Cooking and dining under the T-top
The central T-top includes opening sections above an outdoor galley and dining area. Guests can gather for food and drinks without losing the open-air atmosphere that is central to the yacht's appeal.
A proper inspection should look at the space for meal preparation, refrigeration, stowage and the movement of passengers around someone using the galley. Those practical details often matter more than decorative materials.
Another retreat on the foredeck
A seating and sunbathing space toward the bow provides another place for guests who prefer a little distance from the cockpit. It is reached by walkaround decks that allow movement along the sides of the boat.
Comfort and safety depend on handrails, non-slip surfaces and how the layout feels in changing weather. It is useful to test these routes when the yacht is stationary and while underway in appropriate conditions.
A night aboard for four
Below the main deck, Cranchi provides an aft sleeping cabin and a forward dinette that converts into another berth. Together they accommodate up to four overnight guests, with a separate bathroom and enclosed shower.
This flexibility makes the boat more than a pure day cruiser, although its daytime passenger capacity is higher than the number who can sleep in privacy. Owners should be realistic about storage and comfort during extended stays.
Engines and marina practicalities
The current A46 specification lists twin Volvo Penta D6 IPS650 diesel engines at 480 horsepower each, with 1,500 litres of fuel and 300 litres of fresh water. It is a capable platform for fast coastal trips when properly operated.
The ownership decision should account for support, marina arrangements and the kind of weather routinely encountered. The boat's distinctive outdoor character is a strength for the right lifestyle rather than a universal solution.
