A good jacket has to work when a tender ride turns breezy and when the evening moves into town. Icelandic outerwear specialist 66°North has worked with Outlander Magazine on a limited-edition capsule launched on 18 September, bringing the Dyngja shell back in an archive-inspired form.

A design rooted in Iceland

The collaboration marks the brand's centenary and draws on Iceland's landscape, creative community and weather. Light blue and white refer to the Blue Lagoon, while a black option takes its cue from volcanic ground.

Outlander brings a fashion and cultural perspective to a functional piece of outerwear. The collection is therefore more than another colour release, though its suitability still depends on what the wearer intends to do.

What the shell provides

The Dyngja jacket and trousers use durable three-layer construction with a stated 10,000mm waterproof rating. Reflective piping is another detail drawn from the brand's practical history in low-light conditions.

A shell can be useful ashore or during a sheltered marina transfer, but it is not automatically certified offshore protective clothing. For an exposed yacht passage, appropriate sailing layers and life-saving equipment remain separate decisions.

Three-piece capsule

The limited series comprises a shell jacket, shell trousers and a heavyweight organic-cotton T-shirt with the collaboration branding. The brand's official shop lists individual availability by size and colour, which can change during a limited run.

There is no need to buy a matching outfit for every use. A single shell may work with existing marina clothing, and the wearer should assess mobility and layering before selecting a size.

A practical travel piece

Yacht guests often move among cockpit, hotel, airport and town during one itinerary. A weather-resistant outer layer in understated colours can make those transitions more comfortable without requiring a highly specialised sailing look.
