The builder's event page lists the Xc 47 at Southampton from 18 to 27 September 2026. Its retained older URL slug does not change the event dates stated on that page.
The Xc 47 was not being unveiled as a new world premiere; its current model page records a 2024 award nomination. The show appearance instead offered an opportunity to inspect a yacht intended for offshore cruising.
A working cockpit for a small crew
The deep cockpit and closed transom provide a protected working area, with the two helm positions located aft. Sheets, halyards and reefing controls lead to four standard self-tailing winches close to the wheels.
The transom door can incorporate optional davits and a dinghy launch arrangement, while the bowsprit offers choices for gennaker handling. Those options should be assessed against the owner's crew size and cruising itinerary.
The maker gives an overall length of 15.21 metres including the bowsprit and a maximum beam of 4.56 metres. The standard 2.30-metre draft can be reduced to two metres with the shallow option, which changes berth and anchorage choices.
Construction and cabin priorities
The hull uses vacuum-infused epoxy and E-glass sandwich construction, local carbon reinforcement and the yard's steel keel frame. The structure is integral to the builder's approach to stiffness and load management offshore.
A three-cabin layout contrasts with a two-cabin plan that allocates additional space to a utility room and storage. A couple setting off on long passages may value those practical facilities differently from an owner hosting several guests.
Current specification and buying checks
The current online model specification gives a 59kW, 80hp diesel engine, 500 litres of fuel and 640 litres of freshwater. The actual contract should settle any differences between this edition and older printed brochures.
The show gave buyers an opportunity to assess cockpit sightlines and the movement between the helm and companionway. The official Xc 47 image here depicts the correct model, not an unrelated X-Yachts design.
The choice between more cabins and more cruising stores should be made around the planned sailing programme. Keel depth, sail handling and tender storage are equally consequential in an offshore yacht.
