IBEX becomes an anniversary showcase
Webasto will exhibit at IBEX from 6 to 8 October 2026 as it marks 125 years of company history and more than two decades of work in the marine sector. The Tampa event gives the supplier direct access to boatbuilders, designers and marine-industry professionals.
For yacht owners, the technologies behind climate control and exterior shade can have a major effect on how usable a boat feels in hot climates. These systems are rarely headline features at launch, but they strongly influence comfort once a yacht is used for extended periods.
Marine comfort systems take centre stage
The company says its IBEX display will highlight technologies intended to improve onboard comfort, convenience and reliability. Webasto’s marine work spans climate-control and roof solutions, giving builders several ways to manage temperature, ventilation, sunlight and the relationship between interior and exterior spaces.
In the 12-to-under-24-metre market, those systems must often fit into limited machinery and deck spaces without adding unnecessary complexity. Efficient integration therefore matters as much as the individual product, particularly on yachts where owners expect domestic levels of comfort in a compact platform.
Telescopic Shade 2500 targets outdoor living
Webasto is also presenting its Telescopic Shade 2500, a system designed to extend shade over exterior living areas while preserving the yacht’s appearance. That type of equipment is increasingly relevant as cockpits and aft decks become primary social spaces rather than secondary working areas.
Shade can make those spaces usable for much longer during Mediterranean, Caribbean or Florida cruising. A retractable solution also lets owners choose between full sun and protected seating without relying on temporary canvas systems that may be slower to deploy or visually intrusive.
Dealer support remains part of the proposition
Webasto is using the show to emphasize its dealer and distribution network as well as the products themselves. The company says regional expertise, technical support, parts availability and global resources are intended to support marine customers throughout the life of installed systems.
That aftersales element matters for owners because climate and roof equipment is used constantly and often requires specialist service. A strong support network can therefore be an important consideration when builders select systems that will remain aboard a yacht for many years.
