Four new models sit inside the LYG size range

Viking’s current programme brings together the second-generation 70 Convertible, the 64 Sport Coupe and the 50 Sport Coupe alongside the Valhalla 46 Sport Yacht. At roughly 14 to 21 metres, all four sit squarely within the owner-operated and professionally crewed luxury-yacht market covered by LYG.

The spread is useful because it shows how one builder group is addressing very different owners without moving beyond 24 metres. Buyers can compare serious fishing capability, enclosed cruising comfort and sport-yacht styling while remaining within a size range that is still manageable for private ownership.

A private preview comes before Fort Lauderdale

Viking’s official site is promoting a private viewing and sea-trial day at its Riviera Beach service centre on October 16, ahead of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Owners and prospective buyers can therefore experience the new boats on the water before the main show opens.

Sea trials add information that static displays cannot provide. Visibility, acceleration, noise, helm ergonomics and movement at speed are difficult to judge alongside a dock, making the pre-show programme particularly valuable for buyers comparing several models in a similar size bracket.

The Sport Coupe range is expanding upward

The 64 Sport Coupe extends Viking’s enclosed-command-deck concept into a larger platform, while the 50 Sport Coupe brings the same approach into a more compact package. Viking describes the layout around a forward helm, dining and lounge area with accommodation below, combining all-weather protection with cruising comfort.

That format sits between an open sport yacht and a traditional flybridge model. For owners who want climate-controlled helm space and immediate cockpit access without moving into a larger multi-deck yacht, the Sport Coupe approach offers a practical alternative.

Valhalla broadens the group’s cruising offer

The Valhalla 46 Sport Yacht adds another interpretation of the sub-24m market, combining the brand’s performance-led DNA with more cruising-oriented accommodation. Together with the Viking models, it gives the group a broader presence at the top end of the production-yacht sector.

Fort Lauderdale will provide the first major public comparison point for the four boats. For LYG readers, the significance is straightforward: one of America’s best-known yacht groups is investing heavily in new models precisely within the 12.00m to 23.99m market that Luxury Yacht Guide covers.
