Sterk moves into two Adriatic markets
STERK Yachts has appointed Fred Bobek d.o.o. as its exclusive importer and dealer for Croatia and Slovenia, with the arrangement effective from 1 October 2026. Announced publicly on 6 October, the agreement covers the manufacturer's boat range and introduces a local point of contact for sales, demonstrations, delivery and after-sales assistance. It is an expansion of the distribution network rather than the launch of a new model. For buyers comparing options, a clear quotation should distinguish the bare boat, installed engine, electronics, dealer commissioning and transport. Mooring requirements and service access should be evaluated before ordering. The buyer should also confirm whether trials involve the precise engine configuration being considered; results on a lighter demonstrator may not predict the performance of a fully equipped private boat.
For buyers who berth on the Adriatic, a nearby authorised representative can simplify questions about product configurations and service. The relationship connects the German-founded boat brand with an established regional marine business. Actual support arrangements will still depend on the particular craft, the dealer's capacity and the terms of each purchase agreement.
A dealer experienced in regional boating
Fred Bobek d.o.o. operates in the regional boating market and has experience with sales, distribution and customer service. STERK says the appointment is part of a wider international expansion and is intended to strengthen the brand's position in Croatia and Slovenia, countries with active leisure-boat communities and established coastal cruising routes.
A knowledgeable representative can help prospective customers evaluate how a boat suits local marinas, operating distances and seasonal use. The value is not limited to selling the first hull: customers may also need advice when arranging commissioning, sourcing replacement parts or preparing the boat for winter storage. The announcement does not disclose the commercial terms of the exclusive agreement.
A demonstration boat is planned for Croatia
STERK reports that a demonstration boat has already been ordered and is expected to arrive in Croatia before the 2027 boating season. That creates a prospective opportunity for customers to examine the handling and deck layout in person. A confirmed order for a demonstration vessel is not the same as a verified delivery, however, and no specific arrival day was supplied in the announcement.
Boat trials are useful because they reveal features that can be difficult to judge from renderings or specifications. Visibility from the helm, access around seating and how a boat behaves when carrying several passengers may matter as much as a claimed maximum speed. Interested buyers should ask the dealer when supervised demonstrations are actually available.
The existing Sterk range
The STERK range includes open dayboats designed around performance-oriented hull engineering and adaptable deck arrangements. The manufacturer's own 26-foot model illustrates its approach to compact, trailerable boating with a flexible cockpit and small accommodation area. Bigger models in the portfolio serve buyers seeking additional deck space and performance options.
The dealership agreement covers the range, but the precise models imported into each country, their power options and local pricing should be confirmed directly. A catalogue covering several models is not proof that every hull is available immediately for delivery. Customers should examine the complete build specification rather than relying on marketing imagery to judge onboard equipment.
The Sterk 26 as a representative design
The STERK 26 is a compact sport-oriented model measuring approximately 7.85 metres in overall length before its engines, according to the manufacturer's published specifications. Its modular approach allows a choice between a relatively simple sports configuration and a more extensively equipped leisure arrangement. An enclosed cabin, separate toilet and wet-bar options aim to broaden its use beyond short trips.
Published choices include configurations with conventional outboard propulsion and a possible electric-drive approach. These are model-specific options rather than promises about the performance or availability of every boat sold in the Adriatic. A prospective owner should confirm the propulsion version, permitted loading and actual equipped weight before planning a mooring or trailer purchase.
Croatia and Slovenia as cruising destinations
The dealer appointment is relevant to two neighbouring boating markets with different geographical characteristics. Croatia's islands and long coastline encourage day trips and longer coastal itineraries, while Slovenia has a smaller Adriatic shoreline with access to nearby destinations. The suitability of a fast open boat depends on realistic cruising distances, weather conditions and local harbour facilities.
Even in sheltered-looking waters, conditions can change quickly. An owner should review the boat's design category, fuel reserve, safety equipment and forecast before planning a passage between islands or across an open section of sea. Local dealership advice may help identify practical operating considerations, but it does not replace navigational planning or the captain's responsibility.
What after-sales representation should provide
STERK says the agreement will give owners local contacts for product advice, delivery and ongoing support. Those services can be especially valuable when a boat needs adjustments after commissioning or parts during a busy summer season. The dealer's role should be clarified in the sales contract, including how warranty issues, manufacturer authorisations and specialist servicing will be handled.
Customers should also establish who is responsible for any optional electronics, engine service and winter lay-up work. Some equipment may have separate manufacturers and service networks. Keeping serial numbers, installation records and warranty documents together can prevent confusion after an owner moves the boat to another marina or country.
A commercial expansion, not a boat launch
STERK managing partner Milan Sterk described Croatia and Slovenia as important markets whose cruising environments suit the company's products. Fred Bobek welcomed the chance to represent the complete range and develop its local presence. The October announcement confirms an authorised distribution relationship but gives no sales forecasts, opening ceremony or completed customer delivery figures.

The next substantive milestone will be the expected arrival of the demonstrator ahead of the 2027 season.
