Sasga’s current show calendar keeps the range visible
The Menorcan builder lists the Genoa show from 1 to 6 October and Barcelona from 14 to 18 October on its current event programme. The appearances give buyers in two major Mediterranean markets access to a brand built around slower, longer-range family cruising.
Sasga’s philosophy differs from high-speed planing yachts that dominate much of the 15-metre sector. Owners are encouraged to think about comfort, seakeeping and time aboard rather than judging the boat primarily by maximum speed or aggressive exterior styling.
The 48 Flybridge measures 15.8 metres overall
The Menorquín 48 FB has a 15.8-metre overall length, 4.85-metre beam and three-cabin accommodation for five berths. Sasga quotes a maximum speed of 23 knots and cruising speeds of up to 19 knots, depending on specification and conditions.
Those figures place the yacht between displacement trawlers and faster sports cruisers. The result may suit owners who want useful passage speed without sacrificing the heavier, more settled character associated with the Menorquín semi-displacement hull form.
Fuel and water capacity support longer stays aboard
The model carries approximately 1,840 litres of fuel and 700 litres of fresh water, giving it practical capacity for extended coastal cruising. Maximum engine power is listed at twin 440hp, keeping installed propulsion relatively modest for a yacht of this volume.
Lower power requirements can simplify fuel planning and may reduce operating cost compared with high-output planing alternatives. Buyers still need to assess realistic range at their preferred cruise setting, but the design brief clearly favours sustained use rather than brief high-speed trips.
Traditional references are combined with modern construction
Sasga traces the Menorquín shape to the Balearic llaüt, while the current 48 uses modern vacuum-infusion construction and contemporary interior planning. The flybridge adds an elevated helm and social deck without abandoning the rounded, purposeful exterior character.
That mixture gives the model a distinctive identity in a crowded production-yacht market. Buyers considering Genoa or Barcelona can judge whether the slower Mediterranean aesthetic feels more authentic to their cruising style than a yacht designed primarily around speed and marina presence.
