Why the 6000 remains relevant
Riviera is promoting inspection opportunities for its 6000 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition at the 2026 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. The 19.30-metre model is not a newly launched yacht; its continuing appeal is the combination of an expansive single-level social deck and substantial accommodation below.
The Australian yard's Platinum specification uses a silver, black and white exterior treatment with coordinated helm materials. Large glazed areas, opening sunroofs and direct connections between the saloon and cockpit help the same interior serve a passage-making day and a relaxed evening.
That approach suits an owner who wants the comfort of a larger motor yacht without separating the helmsman from the rest of the party on another deck. The detail that matters is how easily seating and galley duties connect to the exterior cockpit.
Below-deck flexibility
The manufacturer offers three- and four-stateroom arrangements, depending on the chosen configuration. The accommodation deck also includes three bathrooms and a space designated as either a utility room or crew cabin.
Riviera gives a sleeping-capacity range of eight to ten people. That figure should be understood as the builder's published accommodation capacity, with actual comfort depending on how cabins are assigned among adults, children or visiting friends.
The beam is 5.38 metres, a dimension that helps explain the usable volume below the saloon. Owners should inspect not only the master suite but also luggage storage, laundry space and privacy for guests on an extended itinerary.
Helm control and propulsion
Power comes from a pair of Volvo Penta D11 IPS950 installations, each rated at 725hp according to Riviera's specification. The IPS setup combines inboard diesel engines with steerable pod drives; quoted output is engine rating, not a claim about top speed.
Riviera describes three joystick control positions in total, including two in the cockpit and one at the main helm. A stern manoeuvre can therefore be handled from a vantage point closer to a dock rather than solely behind the forward windscreen.
Tank capacities are listed at 3,300 litres of fuel and 800 litres of water. The builder cautions that practical usable capacity and range depend on trim, conditions, loading and the fitted equipment, so a precise cruising range requires a real consumption plan.
The Fort Lauderdale inspection test
The show takes place from 28 October to 1 November, and Riviera's official website advertises private inspections of the 6000 there. Visitors should confirm availability and any specific display hull directly with the shipyard before arranging travel.
On board, the key comparison is between the comfortable volume of the main-deck saloon and the operational demands of a long passage. Galley security, side-deck access, engine-room service space and helm sightlines all deserve time.
The Platinum Edition is a useful reminder that luxury equipment and seamanship should support each other. A strong choice for a family should fit its actual crew, mooring environment and season of use, not just look striking beside the dock.
