Palm Beach Motor Yachts has moved beyond the marina for its latest European brand partnership, backing the Longines Global Champions Tour in Vienna from 24 to 27 September. The Australian luxury-yacht builder is supporting the CDI4* dressage programme staged alongside the show-jumping competition at Schönbrunn Palace.

A luxury-yacht brand enters elite equestrian sport

The partnership connects Palm Beach Motor Yachts with an audience built around high-level competition, travel and luxury ownership rather than conventional boat-show attendance. For the builder, that creates a different way to reach prospective owners who may already share the brand’s interest in performance and design but are not necessarily visiting a yacht exhibition.

Vienna’s 2026 event combines the Global Champions League and Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix with dressage at this level for the first time. Palm Beach is using that addition as the focus of its sponsorship, with the company presenting the disciplines as sharing values of preparation, precision and controlled performance.

Performance is the common marketing theme

Founder and chief designer Mark Richards has long linked the yacht brand to competitive sailing through his own ocean-racing background. The Vienna partnership takes the same performance narrative into another sport where equipment, preparation and the relationship between athlete and machine or animal are central to results.

That positioning is consistent with Palm Beach’s current motor-yacht range, where low weight, efficiency and high cruising speeds are key selling points. LYG covers the company’s 42-to-70-foot models, all of which sit below 24 metres and are aimed primarily at private owners rather than large professional crews.

Owner engagement beyond boat shows

Luxury-yacht builders increasingly compete for attention well outside traditional marine events. Sponsorships in sailing, motorsport, equestrian sport, art and other premium sectors can put a brand in front of potential owners in a setting where lifestyle and personal interests come before technical specifications.

Palm Beach is also using sporting partnerships as hospitality opportunities for existing clients. That makes the relationship more than conventional logo placement because it can become part of the owner experience and help keep customers engaged between yacht purchases or refit cycles.

Vienna event runs through 27 September

The Longines Global Champions Tour Vienna programme runs through Sunday 27 September against the backdrop of Schönbrunn Palace. Leading international riders are competing in both show jumping and dressage, with Palm Beach Motor Yachts attached specifically to the dressage element.

For LYG, the interest is less about equestrian results than about how a yacht builder is choosing to market itself. Reaching affluent owners through high-level sport illustrates how luxury-yacht brands are broadening their commercial activity beyond the boat-show calendar.

The Vienna partnership is therefore a business story as much as a lifestyle crossover. It shows Palm Beach Motor Yachts using shared ideas of performance, craftsmanship and exclusivity to strengthen the brand among an audience that may already have the means and inclination to enter the luxury-yacht market.
