Three models anchor the Florida programme
Australian builder Maritimo is preparing three motor yachts for the 2026 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show from 28 October to 1 November. Its official American show programme names the M55 Flybridge Black Edition, the M50 Flybridge and the S50 Sedan, offering customers different approaches to enclosed and single-level cruising.
The company's stated Americas debut is the S50, which has already been the subject of separate launch coverage. The M55's appearance is important for a different reason: it lets visitors inspect the larger flybridge model alongside the smaller boats.
The M55 remains a major flybridge option
The M55 Black Edition is the largest of the three named yachts in Maritimo's current Fort Lauderdale display. The builder promotes long-range capability, interior volume and cruising practicality, themes that have characterised much of its enclosed-flybridge range.
The Black Edition designation identifies a particular expression of the established model, not a claim that the M55 itself will make its worldwide debut in Florida. Buyers should compare the actual finish, equipment package and accommodation aboard the displayed boat with a current written specification.
An M55 owner christening is on the programme
Maritimo has scheduled a VIP event on Friday, 30 October, from 6pm until 8pm at the show. The manufacturer's invitation describes an M55 christening that will celebrate its owners and welcome them to the Maritimo community, alongside drinks and conversations with its team.
The ceremony is a prospective event announced in advance, not evidence that it has already occurred. The official page allows visitors to register interest, but attendance and any private arrangements should be confirmed directly with the company.
M50 offers a smaller flybridge alternative
The Maritimo M50 will appear alongside the larger M55, creating an opportunity for visitors to compare two sizes within the company's flybridge series. That is helpful because a few metres of length can change practical cabin arrangements, tender storage, deck movement and annual operating costs.
An owner considering extended coastal holidays should inspect passageways, natural light, the relation between saloon and cockpit and the ease of reaching service points. A larger model is not automatically better for a couple who travel without a regular crew.
S50 brings a different form of living
The new S50 Sedan represents the third part of the exhibition and is receiving its American market presentation. Its single-level format offers a contrast with the enclosed flybridge arrangement of the M50 and M55, especially in the relationship between navigation, the saloon and outside entertaining.
This comparison may help owners establish whether they value the elevated driving position of a flybridge yacht or a lower-profile layout with fewer steps between everyday spaces. The choice should follow the intended cruising programme rather than the most dramatic showroom appearance.
What buyers should not assume
The official Fort Lauderdale listing does not give a binding price or delivery date for a specific M55, nor does it guarantee that every available option is installed on the demonstration vessel. It describes a planned show fleet and a private event rather than a completed transaction.
Customers should ask their dealer about current inventory, warranty arrangements, engine installation and local after-sales support. They should also distinguish published model capabilities from the measured performance of an individual yacht.
A useful time to compare the models
The show brings the Maritimo S50, M50 and M55 into the same area, making it possible to compare what an enclosed flybridge contributes to everyday living. The contrast between models is more informative when buyers inspect cabins, machinery access, outside areas and circulation rather than only the helm.
A good viewing should include questions about fuel use at normal cruise, berth requirements, storage for cruising gear and owner training. These practical considerations will matter after the show, long after the excitement of a new yacht's first American appearance.
