Two in-scope cats in Maryland

Excess has confirmed an October Annapolis display featuring its 11, 13 and 14 sailing catamarans. The manufacturer's current calendar lists the event from 15 to 18 October 2026.

Two of the announced models qualify for Luxury Yacht Guide coverage: the Excess 13 at 12.99 metres and the Excess 14 at 13.97 metres in the site's production database. The Excess 11 is shorter than the 12-metre minimum.

The manufacturer's page reports an upcoming exhibition line-up rather than completed sea trials. Prospective owners should confirm the particular boats and onboard appointments before travel.

The Excess 13's place in the range

The Excess 13 is the smaller of the two in-scope designs at Annapolis. It provides a relevant reference for buyers weighing twin-hull accommodation against the handling considerations of a mid-size cruising catamaran.

LYG's official Excess 13 model image illustrates this report and identifies the model on the schedule. It is not presented as a photograph taken at the future American show.

An owner should examine helm placement, exterior access and the connections between saloon and cockpit. Those questions are more informative than comparing only the published overall lengths.

Excess 14 joins the US display

The Excess 14 joins the Annapolis display as the larger in-scope design. At 13.97 metres overall in LYG's model record, it opens different accommodation and deck-space possibilities.

The brand is also showing the 14 at other autumn venues, but the Maryland programme is a separate North American opportunity. Availability and options on individual exhibit boats should be checked with the dealer.

The official calendar supplies the three named models for Annapolis and does not promise an unlimited range of yachts on the pontoons. LYG's selection is therefore deliberately narrowed to the eligible 13 and 14.

Three models but two LYG entrants
