Jeanneau has named Marine Servicenter as its exclusive sailboat and yacht dealer for Northern California, expanding a partnership that has already lasted more than 35 years. The 25 August 2026 appointment means Marine Servicenter now represents Jeanneau across the full US West Coast, from the Pacific Northwest through the San Francisco Bay Area and south to San Diego.

The change is significant because Marine Servicenter is not entering the brand from a standing start. It has nearly five decades of experience in the West Coast sailing community and a long history with Jeanneau, giving the expanded territory an existing base of product knowledge, commissioning capability and owner relationships.

A new Jeanneau base at Point Richmond

Marine Servicenter's Point Richmond operation at Brickyard Cove becomes an important physical point for the new territory. Jeanneau says the location will give Bay Area sailors somewhere to see new models, meet the dealer team and begin comparing boats in a region where local conditions place real demands on rigging, systems and owner preparation.

Northern California sailing can mean strong afternoon winds, tidal currents and exposed coastal passages as well as protected bay cruising. A dealer that understands those conditions can add value well beyond the initial specification process, particularly when owners are deciding on sail handling, electronics, safety equipment and commissioning choices.

Sales, service and training become more closely linked

The appointment also connects with a new sailing-club and training initiative at Brickyard Cove. Marine Servicenter has partnered with Group Nautique, a club and school established by experienced Bay Area instructors, with plans for Jeanneau monohulls to be used for US Sailing instruction, bareboat charter and recreational sailing.

That creates a useful bridge between learning and ownership. Prospective buyers can encounter the brand in an instructional or club setting before making a purchase, while established owners gain a local ecosystem that includes training, technical assistance and access to people who know the boats in practical use rather than only from a showroom.

Multiple Sun Odyssey models heading to regional shows

Jeanneau's announcement also sets out an immediate programme of public appearances. Marine Servicenter plans to show the Sun Odyssey 350, 380, 410, 415 and 440 at the Boats Afloat Show from 16 to 20 September, giving buyers the unusual advantage of comparing several sizes from the same cruising family at one event.

The dealer is also scheduled to exhibit the Sun Odyssey 380, 410 and 440 at the Sausalito Boat Show from 24 to 27 September. For owners trying to choose between adjacent production models, seeing layouts and deck arrangements side by side can reveal practical differences that are difficult to judge from plans, brochures or isolated sea trials.

A dealer-network move with long-term implications

Marine Servicenter vice president Dan Krier described the expansion as a logical fit between Jeanneau's product range and the dealer's established service standards. Jeanneau, for its part, is effectively consolidating West Coast representation around a partner it already knows, reducing the risk that comes with building a new territory around an untested organisation.

For Northern California owners, the most important outcome should be continuity. Buying a production yacht still involves many local decisions after the hull leaves the factory, and a dealer with commissioning, rigging and after-sales experience can determine whether those final stages feel integrated or fragmented. Jeanneau's expanded relationship with Marine Servicenter is therefore as much an ownership-support story as a sales-network announcement.

West Coast continuity can strengthen resale and service

Extending one dealer's territory across a larger part of the coast can also make ownership more consistent after the initial purchase. Owners move boats, cruise between states and eventually sell them, so a network that recognises the boat's history and has access to the same factory support can reduce friction when work is needed away from the original delivery location.

For Jeanneau, the long existing relationship with Marine Servicenter lowers the uncertainty that can accompany a territory change. The builder is not asking Northern California customers to rely on an organisation still learning its systems or warranty procedures; it is expanding the remit of a partner already familiar with the product. That continuity may prove more valuable than the headline expansion itself once the first new boats have been delivered.
