A world debut scheduled for Fort Lauderdale

Galeon Yachts plans to give its 17.55-metre 570 SKY a world boat-show debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, scheduled for 28 October to 1 November 2026. The builder lists its display at Bahia Mar Yachting Center on E Dock, with the new Skydeck model serving as the focal point of an eight-boat line-up.

The announcement concerns a forthcoming American exhibition, not a claim that the event has already taken place. The first opportunity for visitors to inspect the model at the show is expected later in October, when they will be able to compare its arrangement with the yard's established flybridge and sports-cruiser ranges.

Galeon also reports that the 570 SKY has received a Best Innovation award at the 2026 World Yacht Trophies. The distinction recognises part of the design's appeal, although prospective owners still need to examine how the equipment works in practice before reaching their own conclusion.

A concealed helm above the main deck

The defining characteristic of the Skydeck concept is an upper helm that can be concealed beneath the boat's sporty coupé-style profile. Galeon describes an electrically folding console and an arrangement intended to provide flybridge utility without permanently imposing the height and visual outline of a conventional large flybridge.

Such a feature appeals to owners who want an extra outside steering position while maintaining the appearance of a low, streamlined motor yacht. Actual usefulness depends on the sightlines, weather protection and accessibility of the upper station under the conditions in which a yacht will normally operate.

A demonstration should include the full opening and closing sequence, not just a promotional photograph of the finished arrangement. Buyers should ask about drainage, mechanical locking, electrical backup and what happens to access and steering if the mechanism needs repair.

Beach Mode changes the waterside footprint

The 570 SKY is advertised with Galeon's fold-down side balconies, part of the brand's Beach Mode arrangement. Its normal beam is approximately 4.82 metres, while opening the side terraces increases usable beam to around 6.87 metres when the yacht is set up for leisure at anchor.

The wider waterside platform can create additional places for swimming, socialising and moving between the saloon and cockpit. However, the open configuration is not the yacht's normal width for navigation, and owners need to observe the builder's instructions before getting under way.

A sliding galley window and convertible bar help connect the inside preparation area with people seated outside. These are valuable entertainment features but also bring practical maintenance questions involving seals, surface protection and safe operation when the boat is rolling or moving.

Accommodation and propulsion options

Galeon's published specifications describe three guest cabins, with a standard hull layout intended to support family or small-group cruising. The model's roughly 2,200-litre fuel capacity and available twin Volvo Penta propulsion packages allow customers to discuss the practical consequences of their preferred engine configuration.

Maximum combined output is quoted at up to 1,800 horsepower for the highest listed engine choice. That headline figure should not be mistaken for a verified cruising speed or fuel consumption, both of which need measured data under defined load and sea conditions.

Owners comparing the 570 SKY with a conventional flybridge yacht should check interior headroom, baggage storage, boarding arrangements and access to the machinery. An attractive outside deck plan is only one element of a boat that may be used for longer coastal passages.

Eight models in the American display

Alongside the 570 SKY, Galeon expects to present the 335 GTO, 375 GTO, 435 GTO, 520 FLY, 560 FLY, 620 FLY and 680 FLY at Fort Lauderdale. The line-up offers a broad comparison of yacht sizes and operating styles, although the smaller outboard models sit in a different market from the 570 SKY.

Visitors should verify model availability and display arrangements directly with the exhibitor before making travel plans, particularly because show line-ups can change. An appointment can also help buyers concentrate on the precise layout and equipment options relevant to their intended ownership.

For Galeon, the American debut of the new Skydeck yacht is an opportunity to demonstrate how folding furniture, hidden controls and waterside social areas work together. For buyers, the priority will be deciding whether those systems genuinely improve cruising rather than simply create a dramatic show presentation.
