A revised price for a carbon sailing yacht

Northrop & Johnson has reduced FRIDA’s asking price by €60,000 to €990,000. Its 20 October announcement identifies Elizabeth Swain and Sean McCarter as the brokers representing the 21.4-metre custom sailing yacht.

The yacht was built in 2005 by Green Marine in Britain. X-Yachts Denmark provided project management, a separate role that should not be confused with the identity of the builder.

Composite structure beneath the interior

The broker describes a carbon hull and deck, carbon-composite bulkheads and reinforced keel floor structures. Teak-veneered panels cover the carbon bulkheads inside the yacht, combining the structural approach with a more traditional interior finish.

Published dimensions include an 18.63-metre waterline length and a 5.37-metre beam. The stated four-metre draft is particularly relevant when assessing where the yacht can berth, rather than assuming that overall length alone determines marina access.

Maintenance history is part of the sales account

Northrop & Johnson reports full-time captain maintenance since new. The announcement identifies teak reconditioning in 2022 and an electronics update among the work undertaken.

It also records servicing of the North Sails inventory in 2024. Those are dated brokerage statements, and the announcement does not provide an independent survey or establish the present condition of every sail and system.

Three cabins for six guests

FRIDA’s advertised arrangement accommodates six guests in three cabins. The aft master includes a king-size berth, storage and an en-suite bathroom with shower.

Two further guest cabins have single berths and their own shower facilities. A separate crew cabin is forward, keeping the crew accommodation distinct from the three-cabin guest total.

A saloon with more than one configuration

The main saloon serves as a dining and sitting space. An electrically operated table lowers to create a different lounging arrangement, while a pop-up television keeps the entertainment equipment out of view when stowed.

The galley is described with Corian countertops. Further information and viewing arrangements are available through the appointed brokers; the new €990,000 figure is an asking price, with no achieved transaction value disclosed.
