Fairline selects a new digital manufacturing platform

Fairline Yachts has selected Syspro Cloud ERP and the Syspro Torque industrial AI platform to modernise business operations across the British luxury motor-yacht builder. Syspro announced the agreement on 8 October 2026 as part of Fairline's wider programme of improving how the company manages complex manufacturing.

The announcement relates to factory systems and business processes, not the launch of a new yacht. It is nevertheless relevant to customers because procurement, production and aftersales operations play an important role in building and maintaining a luxury boat.

A programme spanning the business

The planned system spans design, engineering, purchasing, the factory floor, warehousing and support after delivery. Connecting these functions is intended to reduce the need to re-enter the same information in separate applications.

Fairline sees a shared operational platform as a basis for more consistent decisions across the business. Syspro's role is to supply the underlying software and help link specialist production activities.

Design changes and production data

Modern yacht production requires individual components, design revisions and supplier information to be coordinated carefully. Syspro ERP will bring engineering-change control and bills of materials into the same environment as factory planning.

When a design change affects a part, the associated information can move through purchasing and production workflows. That is intended to reduce manual chasing and help prevent different teams from working with outdated instructions.

Procurement and scheduling

Material requirements planning and shop-floor management will form part of the new installation. These capabilities are particularly relevant when a yacht incorporates thousands of components from several suppliers.

The builder expects more connected information to make planning and reporting easier. No specific reduction in lead times or numerical cost saving has been promised in the announcement.

A new industrial AI component

Syspro Torque adds an industrial AI layer designed to work with information inside the manufacturing system. The developer describes it as providing contextual support while keeping decisions logged and under human control.

The emphasis on auditability is important in a complex build process where errors can have real financial and engineering consequences. The announcement does not suggest that unsupervised AI will independently approve changes to boats.

How the company expects to use AI

Fairline's strategy team expects the AI platform to make reports and operational enquiries faster and easier to prepare. Staff should be able to interrogate manufacturing information without having to assemble every answer by hand.

The intended benefit is more informed decision-making across departments. Actual performance will depend on the quality of data, system integration and how the team adopts the new workflows.

Traceability and quality checks

Quality management is also part of the planned approach, with records intended to link checks to relevant stages of construction. This can help staff trace a problem to its origin rather than only seeing a defect after a yacht is finished.

For owners, better operational traceability may support clear records and more responsive aftersales service. That is an intended operational advantage, not a guarantee that manufacturing faults will never occur.

Implementation partner

Syspro premium solutions partner HIT Technology will lead the implementation. Its task is to coordinate the software deployment with Fairline and support the process of changing how information is handled.

The project will require cooperation across design, manufacturing and service teams. The companies have not provided a firm public completion date for the full rollout.

A significant step for the Oundle builder

Fairline is based in Oundle, Northamptonshire, and has been producing British motor yachts for more than six decades. Its portfolio spans owner-operated craft and larger luxury motor yachts serving international customers.

The company was acquired by Bronzewood Capital in 2025, and the new software agreement forms part of its continuing business transformation. It should be distinguished from changes to yacht design or ownership structure.

Next stages of the project

The confirmed development is Fairline's selection of Syspro ERP and Torque, with HIT Technology appointed to lead the work. The software should help connect the many departments involved in delivering and supporting each yacht.

The partners have not announced a precise go-live date, project budget or guaranteed efficiency improvement. Those details should be assessed once implementation progresses and results become available.
