Barcelona adds another major Mediterranean appearance

The Barcelona show runs from 14 to 18 October at Marina Port Vell and includes fourteen yachts measuring more than 16 metres. Cranchi’s Sessantadue 62 is named among the larger boats due to attend, giving Spanish and international visitors direct access to the model.

For prospective owners, the timing is useful because Barcelona follows the major September and early-October European shows. Buyers can revisit models seen in Cannes or Genoa and compare them in another marina environment before deciding which boats deserve more detailed sea trials.

The flybridge is designed as a second living area

Cranchi treats the upper deck as more than an elevated helm, using it as a social space for dining, relaxation and navigation. The design follows the broader market shift toward flybridges that function as true outdoor rooms rather than simple control stations.

That approach suits owners who spend long days at anchor because guests can separate naturally between cockpit, saloon, bow and flybridge. More usable zones reduce the sense of crowding that can become noticeable when several people stay aboard for consecutive nights.

Twin IPS1350s balance performance with manoeuvrability

The Sessantadue 62 uses twin Volvo Penta D13 IPS1350 installations, each rated at 1,000hp. The package combines joystick manoeuvring with pod-drive efficiency, an increasingly familiar choice in this size range for owners who want easier close-quarters handling.

IPS also changes machinery layout compared with conventional shaft drives, helping designers allocate more interior volume farther aft. Buyers still need to consider local service support and maintenance familiarity, but the system has become well established across European marinas.

Six berths keep the ownership proposition focused

The yacht provides six guest berths plus an additional berth, keeping the accommodation plan centred on family and small-group cruising rather than maximising cabin count. Cranchi combines teak, light lacquer finishes and broad glazing to create a calm interior atmosphere.

At 20.23 metres, the model remains comfortably inside LYG’s size band while offering many of the social spaces associated with larger yachts. Barcelona will let buyers judge whether that balance of volume, machinery and manageable length matches their own cruising plans.
