Fly 53 joins Azimut's Malta display
Azimut Yachts will bring the Fly 53 to the Malta Boat Show from 29 October to 1 November 2026. The 16.78-metre yacht is one of the sub-24-metre models in the official display and gives local buyers a practical entry point into Azimut's flybridge range.
The show takes place at Dock 1 in Cottonera, placing the yacht in a central Mediterranean market with established cruising and service infrastructure. For Maltese owners, the event provides direct access to a current model without travelling to Cannes or Genoa.
Three cabins sit beneath a relatively compact hull
The Fly 53 offers three guest cabins plus a crew cabin within a 4.95-metre beam. Azimut uses full-height interior spaces and broad glazing to create a lighter feel, while the main deck connects the galley and lounge through an open arrangement.
That combination is important around the 17-metre mark, where owners want substantial overnight capability without the complexity of a much larger yacht. Six guest berths allow family cruising while the separate crew space can support professional help when required.
The flybridge remains the centre of outdoor life
Azimut describes the flybridge as the principal open-air living area, with separate zones for navigation, lounging and social use. A forward lounge on the main deck creates another outdoor space, reducing the need for every guest to gather in the cockpit or upper deck.
The cockpit itself is arranged asymmetrically to improve circulation, while the exterior profile uses the glazed flybridge band to maintain a lighter appearance. These are details that buyers can judge more effectively aboard the yacht than through renderings or technical drawings.
IPS propulsion supports manoeuvrability
Twin Volvo Penta IPS 950 engines provide up to 31 knots, with Azimut quoting a cruising speed of up to 26 knots. Joystick control and automated trim systems are intended to simplify handling, particularly during close-quarters manoeuvring in busy Mediterranean marinas.
For Luxury Yacht Guide readers, the Fly 53 sits in a useful middle ground between owner operation and more crew-intensive yachting. Malta Boat Show gives prospective buyers four days to inspect how its accommodation, helm systems and flybridge layout work together in practice.
