Fort Lauderdale will give Aquila buyers something that is difficult to get from brochures: the chance to move across almost the entire power-catamaran range in one visit. The company plans a nine-model display for FLIBS 2026, its largest ever at the show.
The line-up ranges from smaller sport and offshore boats through to the 16.5-metre Aquila 54 Yacht. For LYG, the most relevant part of the display is the group of larger Sport, Coupe and Yacht models that sit squarely inside the 12.00–23.99-metre market.
The 54 Yacht anchors the cruising end of the display
At 16.5 metres overall and 7.68 metres in beam, the Aquila 54 Yacht is the largest model in the FLIBS group. It combines a panoramic saloon, large flybridge and flexible three-, four- or five-cabin layouts with Category A certification.
That makes it the natural reference point for buyers who are primarily interested in longer-range cruising and liveaboard comfort. Moving down through the 50 and 46 Yacht then shows how much of that same formula survives in a smaller platform.
Sport and Coupe models offer a different ownership rhythm
The 45 Sport, 46 Coupe and 42 Coupe approach the catamaran idea from a more performance- and day-use-oriented direction. Their inclusion makes the display useful for buyers who like multihull stability and beam but do not necessarily want a conventional flybridge cruising yacht.
That contrast is important because the power-cat market has broadened rapidly. Owners can now choose between long-range cruising, high-speed sport use and lower-profile coupe layouts without leaving the same general hull concept.
The nine-boat line-up creates real comparison value
Aquila is also showing the 50 Yacht, 46 Yacht, 47 Molokai and 36 Molokai, alongside the 35 Sport making its Americas debut. The 35 falls below LYG’s 12-metre threshold, but it helps demonstrate how the brand scales design ideas across very different sizes.
For an LYG buyer, the useful exercise is to start with intended use rather than length. A 42 Coupe and a 54 Yacht may share a badge and twin-hull architecture, but they solve very different ownership problems.
FLIBS gives Aquila a concentrated US showcase
The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show runs from 28 October to 1 November, with Aquila’s display at Dock E at Bahia Mar Yachting Center. The scale of the stand suggests the company sees the US market as central to its next phase of growth.
The headline may be the largest display Aquila has brought to FLIBS, but the real value is comparative. Buyers can step from sport cats to cruising cats in minutes and decide which interpretation of the power-catamaran platform actually fits the way they intend to use a yacht.
