Aquila is taking the 45 Sport to the Genoa Boat Show from 1 to 6 October 2026 with its Italian dealer FC-Yacht. The 14.17-metre power catamaran sits squarely inside LYG’s market and will be one of the brand’s key current models on display in Italy.
The show appearance follows a busy launch period for Aquila’s newer performance-oriented catamarans. Genoa gives prospective owners another chance to inspect the 45 Sport’s deck transformation and high-speed hull concept in person.
Double-stepped hulls target higher speed
Aquila says the 45 Sport uses advanced double-stepped hull technology and is capable of top speeds above 50 mph. The builder quotes efficient cruising in the 38-to-40 mph range, positioning the yacht as a faster alternative to more traditional cruising power catamarans.
That performance is central to the model’s identity rather than an incidental specification. The 45 Sport is aimed at owners who want multihull space and stability without giving up the acceleration and pace associated with large performance day boats.
Fold-down terraces reshape the aft cockpit
Electric side terraces lower to expand the aft cockpit to a claimed 19 feet of social width. A convertible U-shaped seating arrangement then allows the same area to move between dining, lounging and open entertaining use.
The helm is arranged with four seats, reinforcing the yacht’s owner-operated character. Aquila has tried to make the driving experience part of the social programme rather than separating the helm from guests on a more formal upper deck.
Genoa gives the 45 Sport an Italian platform
The yacht will be shown through FC-Yacht at stand E813 in Genoa. Aquila is taking advance appointments for private walkthroughs, with the show running for six days from Thursday through Tuesday.
The 45 Sport has also been nominated for the 2027 European Powerboat of the Year award. That nomination gives the Genoa appearance additional relevance because visitors can inspect the model before the next award cycle reaches its conclusion.
A distinct place in Aquila’s wider range
Aquila’s broader catalogue stretches from smaller Molokai models to large luxury power catamarans, but the 45 Sport occupies a specific position between day-boat excitement and overnight capability. Its appeal is based on speed, deck flexibility and the wide social spaces created by the multihull platform.
For LYG buyers, the model is especially relevant because it delivers those features at 14.17 metres overall. Genoa should provide a useful opportunity to compare that proposition directly with conventional monohull sports cruisers and other performance catamarans in the same size band.
