The Gozzo 42 fills the gap between the 35 and 45

Apreamare positions the Gozzo 42 between its established 35 and 45 models, creating a step-up option for owners who want more space without making a large jump in scale. The builder says demand includes existing Gozzo 35 owners looking to move into a larger boat while retaining familiar handling and styling.

At 12.80 metres overall and 4.20 metres in beam, the yacht remains compact enough for owner operation in the Mediterranean. It can carry up to 14 people during day use, giving it useful entertaining capacity without requiring the accommodation volume of a larger flybridge model.

Owners can choose shafts or Volvo Penta IPS

The variable-geometry hull has been designed to accept either conventional shaft-drive propulsion or Volvo Penta IPS. Available configurations include twin D6 diesels with shaft drives and IPS alternatives, allowing buyers to choose between a traditional mechanical layout and the manoeuvring benefits of pod propulsion.

Depending on the engine package, published performance figures extend to a maximum speed of around 36 knots, with cruising speeds in the low-to-high twenties. A 1,200-litre fuel tank gives the yacht useful range for coastal cruising rather than limiting it to short day-boat operation.

The deck is built around Mediterranean outdoor use

Apreamare has extended the hardtop aft to increase shaded space and redesigned the helm around either three 13-inch displays or two 17-inch screens. Two sunbathing areas, a social cockpit, configurable wet bar and stern platform with tender lift shape the main outdoor living programme.

This arrangement reflects how many owners use yachts in the 12-to-15-metre sector: long days outside, frequent swimming stops and meals aboard, with the interior acting as a comfortable retreat rather than the centre of activity. The walkaround circulation also makes moving between bow and stern straightforward.

Overnight accommodation remains part of the brief

Below deck, the standard layout includes an owner's cabin, while an optional second cabin can add twin berths for guests. The ability to enclose the windscreen more fully is also available, improving protection when owners want to cruise outside the warmest summer conditions.

The Gozzo 42 therefore sits comfortably within Luxury Yacht Guide's lower size band while still functioning as a genuine weekender. Its Genoa debut is significant because it places a new Italian-built owner-operated yacht directly in front of the domestic market immediately after its international launch.
