Swiss fashion and hotel design come together
Mandarin Oriental, Geneva has announced a festive collaboration with Swiss designer Kévin Germanier for the 2026 winter season. The programme, revealed on 16 October, combines decorative installations, dining and seasonal activities within the lakeside hotel's public spaces.
Germanier is known for expressive couture using upcycled materials, and the hotel is drawing on his aesthetic for a gold-and-white seasonal setting. The idea is to make the property itself part of the experience rather than treating decorations as a background detail.
Upcycled materials transform the lobby
The collaboration centres on shimmering installations inspired by Alpine winter landscapes and Germanier's Swiss roots. The hotel describes a tree-like display recalling fireworks, made using materials consistent with the designer's approach to creative reuse.
General manager Christian Wildhaber has framed the project as a celebration of local craftsmanship and imagination. Those are the hotel's stated objectives, not a claim that the installation has been independently certified as environmentally neutral.
MO Bar introduces seasonal flavours
The festive programme extends to MO Bar, where head bartender Christophe Pinto has created a themed cocktail. The recipe combines vodka, bergamot liqueur and citrus-verbena flavours with layers of fruit and matcha, linking colour and presentation to the designer's work.
An alcohol-free option uses coconut, lemon and hazelnut alongside Swiss-produced alcohol-free gin. The hotel also describes use of repurposed citrus peel, providing one example of how kitchen and bar teams are incorporating waste-reduction ideas into seasonal service.
Pastry and dining become part of the theme
Pastry chef Michael Perrichon and his team are creating seasonal dishes that reflect a couture-inspired design language. The programme includes a deconstructed Mont-Blanc with chestnut and meringue, alongside a dessert combining vanilla, pear, cranberry and buckwheat.
The themed MO Bar menu is scheduled from 16 November 2026 through 10 January 2027. Guests should check the current menu and any booking requirements directly because the announcement describes a future programme, not items guaranteed to be served at every visit.
A winter destination beyond the decorations
For travellers visiting Geneva during winter, the collaboration adds an artistic layer to the city's luxury-hotel offerings. The programme connects seasonal food and drink with the work of a Swiss designer whose approach emphasises individuality and reused materials.
The hotel's announcement does not imply that all festive experiences are included in the room rate, nor does it promise that every element will be permanently available. Reservations and specific event details should be confirmed before planning a journey around the programme.
