A destination retreat for regular tennis players

Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina is offering a three-day Tennis For All Seasons Retreat from 4 to 6 December 2026. The programme combines structured professional instruction with accommodation at the resort on Oahu's western coast.

Rather than a generic resort activity, the event is aimed at players with a United States Tennis Association rating of 3.0 or higher. That threshold suggests that participants should already understand the rules and be comfortable rallying and playing points; the retreat is not advertised as an introductory course for complete beginners.

Three coaches lead the programme

The coaching group comprises Roberta Russo, the resort's Director of Tennis and a former WTA-ranked player, Adam Brewer, Lead Wellness Specialist and RSPA Elite Tennis Professional, and Bianca Schulhof, another RSPA Elite Tennis Professional.

Four Seasons says the three bring more than 45 years of combined experience. Russo's competitive background includes work on the French Open and Italian Open circuits, while Brewer has coached a broad range of players, from beginners to professionals.

Two mornings on court

The main tennis retreat sessions are scheduled for 8:00 am to noon on 5 and 6 December, giving guests eight hours of instruction and supervised play across two days. The programme includes technique drills, serving, footwork, court positioning and doubles tactics.

Coached match play allows participants to test the new ideas under realistic conditions, which may help make the experience more useful than a demonstration alone. A player with an injury or specific training goal should explain that to the coaching team before arrival.

Recovery is part of the design

Off-court activities include daily wellness classes, such as yoga and mobility work. The resort also offers guests a 20 per cent reduction on treatments at its Naupaka Spa & Wellness Centre, which Four Seasons describes as a 35,000-square-foot facility.

The combination recognises that recreational athletes often want a holiday with exercise rather than a full-time training camp. Spa treatments and wellness sessions may enhance relaxation, but guests should not assume they replace professional medical advice for injuries.

A luxury resort setting on the coast

Ko Olina offers a different atmosphere from central Honolulu, with access to the ocean and resort leisure facilities. The event is designed for guests who may want to spend the afternoons on the beach, exploring Oahu or enjoying the hotel's restaurants.

Travellers combining the retreat with a private boating trip should assess actual transfer arrangements and the availability of suitable marinas independently. A waterfront resort does not automatically have dedicated access for every yacht.

Prices and included elements

Four Seasons advertises retreat packages starting at US$730 per night plus taxes for one person or US$965 per night plus taxes for double occupancy. The package includes accommodation for 4–6 December, daily breakfast, the coached sessions and one complimentary wellness class each day.

Guests are also offered a 2:00 pm late checkout on 6 December, subject to the advertised package. It is important not to mistake a nightly starting rate for the full three-day holiday cost or to assume that every spa treatment is included.

Who will find it most useful

The retreat may appeal to couples or friends who already enjoy tennis and want a purposeful short break without sacrificing high-end accommodation. The presence of multiple coaches also creates opportunities for more tailored feedback than an entirely self-guided holiday.

Booking availability, any equipment requirements and participation limits should be confirmed with the resort. The December schedule is a published plan, and guests should obtain written terms before making non-refundable travel reservations.
