Embraer has delivered the first Praetor 600E to Flexjet, putting the next-generation version of its super-midsize business jet into service. The aircraft is part of a broader fleet agreement between the two companies and arrives with a substantially redesigned passenger cabin.
The most visible new feature is Embraer’s Smart Window, a 42-inch 4K OLED touchscreen that can be used for videoconferencing, high-resolution entertainment and live exterior views from cameras mounted on the aircraft. Flexjet selected the system for its first delivered 600E.
The cabin is designed around longer missions
The Praetor 600E has a published range of 4,018 nautical miles with four passengers and NBAA IFR reserves. Embraer uses city pairs such as London to New York and São Paulo to Miami to illustrate the type of missions the aircraft can cover.
Long flights change the priorities of cabin design because seats, lighting, storage, galley function and noise become more important as hours accumulate. The 600E therefore introduces new Embraer-designed seating and an updated cabin management system alongside the headline display technology.
The Smart Window creates a flexible second cabin zone
The 42-inch screen can turn part of the cabin into a meeting area, cinema or observation space depending on the flight. With the optional divan configuration opposite the screen, the same zone can move between work and relaxation without permanent reconfiguration.
External cameras provide live views when passengers want a visual connection to the journey. That feature may sound decorative, but it changes the sense of enclosure inside a business jet and gives passengers another way to use wall space that would otherwise remain static.
Connectivity and comfort are increasingly inseparable
The revised cabin management system controls lighting, temperature and entertainment, with optional voice commands, Bluetooth audio and wireless charging. Embraer also highlights redesigned seats, RGB mood lighting and a larger galley for longer missions.
These features reflect how private aviation has shifted from simply reducing journey time to reproducing the environments passengers expect on the ground. Owners increasingly want an aircraft to function as office, lounge and private room within the same flight.
Private aviation remains closely linked with yacht travel
