Georgia's St. Marys Marina prepares for an autumn opening
Torras Properties is preparing to open St. Marys Marina on the Georgia coast, targeting the beginning of November 2026. The company, which also operates Brunswick Landing Marina, has announced a new downtown waterfront operation intended to serve both visiting boaters and owners seeking longer-term dockage.
The new private marina is separate from the city-owned St. Marys Intracoastal Gateway Marina, and visiting captains need to be clear about which facility they are booking. St. Marys Marina is situated at 307 West St. Marys Street, close to the historic town centre and the waterfront park.
Although the advertised opening target is November, the marina's own September update says that certain boater services are already available and reservation requests are being accepted. A phased opening should not be represented as a claim that every promised amenity has been completed.
Modern floating docks and a variety of power supplies
St. Marys Marina has installed concrete floating docks for vessels up to 120 feet, around 36.6 metres. Its published utilities include 30-amp and 50-amp electrical connections, with 100-amp three-phase service intended for yachts with greater shore-power requirements.
High-speed Wi-Fi and security cameras are among the features identified for the slips, while the marine services include a pump-out system. The precise electricity available at an individual berth and any adapter arrangements should be confirmed before arrival rather than assumed from the broader facility description.
The company is offering daily, weekly, monthly and longer-term dockage options. Different owners will require different access to nearby services, especially when moving between cruising grounds or planning to leave a boat unattended for part of the year.
Boaters should also consider water depth, channel conditions, air draft and possible weather exposure on the approach. The maximum stated vessel length does not replace a berth-specific reservation or assurance that an individual yacht can be safely accommodated at a particular time.
A downtown location shapes the visitor experience
The marina is positioned within walking distance of restaurants, shops and the park beside the St. Marys waterfront. Visitors are also near the departure point for trips to Cumberland Island, making the location relevant to owners interested in exploring the local region rather than simply stopping for fuel.
An office and yacht-club building across the road is intended to provide a lounge, showers and restrooms, with laundry facilities still under construction according to the marina's own update. Those distinctions matter to guests expecting particular services on their day of arrival.
The operator says its team is drawing on experience from Brunswick Landing Marina, where customer service and a community of resident and visiting boaters have been important parts of the business. The expansion is an operational development rather than a separate announcement of a new yacht model or an additional waterfront resort.
What owners should check before the planned opening
Prospective visitors can submit transient or long-term reservation requests through the marina's published booking process, subject to confirmation by the operator. An enquiry or request is not itself a guaranteed berth assignment.
Customers should confirm whether the yacht's size and intended stay are compatible with the marina's present configuration and whether any construction activity could affect access. Captains of larger motor yachts will also need to verify three-phase shore-power requirements and the suitability of the pump-out connection.
St. Marys Marina is intended to provide an additional option for private yacht owners along the Georgia coast, alongside existing facilities and the area's network of sheltered waterways. Its long-term appeal will depend on the reliability of the installed pontoons, local service support and the continuing quality of marina management.
