The marina has recently improved its shore facilities, including showers, disabled access, laundry and chandlery provision. Pontoons have fresh water and electricity, and the harbour team offers operational support through the winter, which is particularly useful for owners who live some distance from their boats.
What the marina provides
Shipshape Marine operates on site and is offering winter-maintenance packages covering inspections, engine and machinery checks, batteries, corrosion prevention, fuel condition and winterisation. The harbour also offers storm video updates on request, topsides cleaning and monitoring of shore-power arrangements for customers who are away.
Those services make the offer more than a simple berth rental. For owners who keep a boat afloat through the Scottish winter, regular inspection and prompt attention to electrical, fuel or weather-related issues can reduce the risk of small problems developing while the vessel is unattended.
Cruising connections and maintenance
Tarbert Harbour has published a 2026 winter-berthing rate of £146 per metre including VAT. It is also continuing a referral scheme, with rewards linked to the length of a new customer’s boat, as the harbour looks to grow its winter community.
Winter-season requirements vary by vessel and length of stay. An owner should confirm maintenance access and winterisation support before deciding where to berth.
What owners should check
Tarbert’s position near the Crinan Canal can be useful when planning a west-coast cruising season. Passage arrangements and dimensional limits must be checked separately for the yacht concerned.
A separate £2.2 million slipway project is under way, with additional parking and hard-standing space planned and lifting operations expected to begin in spring 2027. The combined investment indicates that Tarbert is positioning itself not only as a seasonal visitor stop but as a fuller year-round base for leisure craft.
