Jeanneau’s Yachts 55 Expedition edition extends the established sailing model’s long-distance cruising brief with added offshore equipment. The builder highlighted the edition for Cannes 2026, while the core yacht’s owner-focused interior remains a defining part of the proposition.

An owner suite with separate guest access

The Yachts 55 arranges the forward owner’s suite around roughly two-thirds of the interior, with a main companionway reserved for that living space. Guest cabins have their own access from the cockpit, giving visitors independence without treating the yacht like a conventional corridor of cabins.

Equipment for longer passages

Jeanneau lists an advanced offshore electronics pack, performance rigging and four 80-watt solar panels among Expedition features. Those additions are intended to support longer time away, but actual electrical autonomy needs a load calculation for the chosen vessel.

Solar yield depends on season, shading, installation and energy consumption. Buyers should confirm the detailed equipment schedule and what is standard on their individual order.

Watchkeeping and deck life

The original model places twin helms forward of an aft relaxation area, with an exterior chart table and a sheltered working position. Separate cockpit spaces help distinguish the crew on watch from family members relaxing during a passage.

This is a layout concept, not independent proof that the yacht is suitable for any route without preparation. Safety equipment, weather decisions and crew experience remain critical.

A model edition, not a delivery report

Jeanneau’s 27 July announcement identified a planned world premiere at Cannes, and its current model page details Expedition equipment. We do not infer a sale, handover or independent sea-trial result from that publicity.
