The renewal creates a more consistent range

Jeanneau says the latest Sun Odyssey programme is intended to make the cruising-sailboat range more complete and consistent from 34 to 51 feet. The published line-up retains the Sun Odyssey 349 while identifying the 389, 419, 449, 479 and 519 as new within the renewed family.

For Luxury Yacht Guide, the significant part of the announcement begins with the 419 and continues through the 519. Those four boats occupy a useful span between family-sized cruising yachts and the larger owner-operated sailing segment, while sharing the same Sun Odyssey positioning.

The 419 establishes the lower end of the LYG group

Jeanneau lists the Sun Odyssey 419 at 12.76 metres overall with a 3.99-metre beam and a choice of two or three cabins. The Philippe Briand design carries 200 litres of fuel and 330 litres of water, with the published certification reaching CE Category A for eight people.

That specification places the 419 just above Luxury Yacht Guide’s 12-metre lower boundary and gives the renewed range an accessible entry point for this site’s readership. Its combination of moderate size, multiple accommodation layouts and offshore-category certification is aimed at owners who want manageable cruising dimensions.

The 449 and 479 add more volume and layout choice

Moving upward, Jeanneau gives the Sun Odyssey 449 an overall length of 13.76 metres and a 4.24-metre beam, with two-, three- or four-cabin configurations. The Sun Odyssey 479 extends to 14.43 metres overall and 4.49 metres in beam, while its published accommodation offers three to four cabins.

The progression is important because it allows buyers to add interior volume and guest capacity without leaving the same design family. Both models are attributed to Philippe Briand, and their specifications retain a conventional cruising-sailboat focus rather than shifting into a specialised performance or charter-only format.

The 519 takes the renewed line to 15.75 metres

At the upper end of the announced family, the Sun Odyssey 519 measures 15.75 metres overall with a 4.69-metre beam. Jeanneau lists three- and four-cabin arrangements on the current specification page, together with 240 litres of fuel, 615 litres of water and CE Category A capacity for 13 people.

Taken together, the 419, 449, 479 and 519 give Jeanneau a sequence of sailing yachts squarely inside the 12–23.99-metre LYG market. The September renewal is therefore more than a single-model announcement: it re-establishes a graduated cruising range across several common owner-use and accommodation requirements.
