Grand Banks’ 54 brings its traditional motor-yacht silhouette into a 17.68-metre modern cruising platform. Buyers can choose a Sedan or Flybridge version with two or three staterooms, alongside differing galley positions and propulsion configurations.
A choice of everyday layouts
The builder offers the GB54 in Sedan or Flybridge forms, allowing owners to decide whether a second elevated living and helm area suits their routine. Its interior plans also offer a main-deck galley or a lower-deck alternative, with a dedicated master and double VIP cabin.
A two-cabin yacht can allocate more space to other activities, while a three-cabin version may suit regular family trips. The correct comparison is the actual build plan, not the general model photograph.
Published dimensions and capacity
Grand Banks specifies 17.68 metres length overall and 5.4 metres of beam, with about 3,500 litres of fuel and 1,000 litres of freshwater. Side decks, bulwarks and a starboard helm door are designed to make movement and close-quarters handling more straightforward.
Those features can help a small operating team, but a brochure cannot guarantee easy handling in every berth. Crew capability, wind, current and vessel configuration still matter.
Shaft and pod configurations
The standard twin Volvo D11 shaft installation is rated at 725hp per engine, while the yard lists optional higher-power D13 shafts and Volvo IPS800S units. Its standard test table quotes 29 knots maximum and about 490 nautical miles at 21 knots.
Grand Banks notes that the figures were recorded at half load in the standard configuration. An owner should preserve suitable fuel reserves and expect range to change with weather, load and selected propulsion.
