Six sailing yachts ready for private trials
BENETEAU has invited owners and potential buyers to Port Ginesta in Spain for three days of sailing-yacht sea trials from 29 to 31 October 2026. The event will feature six models across the Oceanis Yacht, Oceanis and First families.
Unlike a conventional static boat-show display, the programme is intended to let visitors experience boats on the water. Appointments must be arranged in advance through BENETEAU's official invitation process.
A Mediterranean testing location
Port Ginesta lies on the Spanish coast near Barcelona and provides a practical departure point for short demonstrations. The venue allows crews to examine cockpit arrangements, handling and other characteristics in real conditions.
Weather, sea state and operational requirements determine whether a particular trial can proceed. A scheduled event does not guarantee sailing in all conditions.
Oceanis Yacht 54 in the line-up
The Oceanis Yacht 54 measures approximately 17.12 metres and offers a more substantial cruising format within the display. Its broad beam and accommodation are designed for extended private sailing.
Owners can compare its handling and cockpit layout with smaller Oceanis models. The published trial list does not specify an individual boat's sail wardrobe or optional equipment.
Two newer Oceanis cruisers
The Oceanis 47 and Oceanis 52 are also on the programme, with published overall lengths of about 14.60 and 16.28 metres respectively. These models represent different points in BENETEAU's evolving mainstream cruising range.
A trial can reveal the differences in helm access, manoeuvrability and deck circulation better than dimensions alone. Guests should request the actual specification of each demonstration vessel.
First 44 for lively sailing
BENETEAU has listed the First 44 at approximately 14.65 metres. The First family places a greater emphasis on a lively sailing experience while maintaining accommodation for coastal and longer passages.
An on-water session gives potential owners the opportunity to discuss sail controls, trim and handling with an experienced crew. Performance varies with conditions and configuration.
First 53 as a larger alternative
At roughly 17.12 metres overall, the First 53 brings a larger sailing-yacht platform to the event. Its size makes it relevant for owners comparing performance-led boats with more conventional cruisers.
Visitors may wish to study cabin circulation and storage as well as deck ergonomics. The correct comparison depends on intended crew size and preferred cruising programme.
First 60 joins the trials
The largest model listed is the First 60, measuring approximately 18.95 metres overall. It remains comfortably below the 24-metre scope of Luxury Yacht Guide while offering a substantial owner-oriented sailing platform.
The trial should allow guests to assess how a larger hull responds to sail control and manoeuvring. BENETEAU has not guaranteed any individual demonstration duration in the public event listing.
Comparing model families
With Oceanis Yacht, Oceanis and First represented, the event gives visitors a chance to contrast three design approaches within the same manufacturer. Comfort, performance and cruising convenience may carry different weight for each prospective owner.
A buyer considering a move from motor boating to sailing can also use the event to explore the practical demands of sailing ownership. A guided demonstration is not a substitute for professional instruction.
Booking an invitation
The manufacturer has provided an online request process for interested visitors and identifies the dates as 29, 30 and 31 October 2026. Arrangements are subject to the organising team and the availability of specific models.
Owners should confirm appointment times, boarding arrangements and any personal safety requirements. Dealers may also be able to discuss delivery schedules and regional support.
What is confirmed for October
The event is a manufacturer-organised opportunity to test six production sailing yachts off the Spanish Mediterranean coast. It is not a new launch announcement for each listed model.
The most useful outcome for potential buyers will be a direct comparison of the yachts they are seriously considering. Live specifications and commercial terms should be obtained from BENETEAU representatives.
