A beachfront evening inspired by Japan
Sea Fu at Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach has scheduled Breath of Japan for Saturday, 7 November 2026, bringing Japanese food and cultural performances together in a beachfront setting overlooking the Arabian Gulf.
The restaurant is using the event to introduce a new chapter in its culinary programme. Unlike a conventional single-menu tasting, the evening combines a drinks reception, à la carte dinner, live music and an opportunity to discover contemporary Japanese textile design.
Cocktails lead the early programme
From 18:00 to 19:30, guests can take part in a drinks reception at the outdoor bar, with flowing beverages and pass-around bites. Four Seasons publishes a price of AED 170 per person for the reception, which should not be confused with the cost of the subsequent restaurant meal.
The announced cocktails include Shitsuke, a mixture built around Hibiki whisky, beetroot cordial, cacao liqueur and grapefruit soda. Another, Seiton, incorporates Haku vodka, lychee, mint, elderflower and kaffir lime leaf, while non-alcoholic options feature premium Mucharaka Japanese tea.
A new direction from the kitchen
Chef de Cuisine Marcel Finsterer-Graf von Bassewitz is introducing dishes that connect classical Japanese references with a contemporary restaurant approach. The 7-Piece Nigiri Chef's Selection is intended to showcase different toppings chosen for each piece.
The published menu also highlights grilled Japanese madai fish with sea fennel and sauce vierge, alongside yaki soba with house sauce and homemade furikake. These are announced highlights rather than an assertion that every guest must order a fixed set menu.
Music moves from tradition to contemporary culture
A koto performance will provide a traditional Japanese string-instrument soundscape during the evening, before DJ Mika Kitten takes over with a more contemporary set. The contrast is intended to move the event from an early cultural atmosphere into a more social beachfront occasion.
For visitors, the best reason to attend may be the combination of food, music and setting rather than any one component. Those looking for a quiet dinner should ask the restaurant how seating is arranged around the live entertainment.
Upcycled kimonos contribute a design element
Japan Style, a sustainable kimono brand, is expected to present upcycled garments and allow guests to explore the designs. Its participation connects the event with Japanese craft and fashion, extending the theme beyond the kitchen.
Reworking existing garments is one approach to reducing waste in fashion, but it should not be treated as proof of a particular environmental saving unless life-cycle data is provided. For travellers, the opportunity is to learn about the designs and their cultural context.
Planning a stay around the event
The Four Seasons resort sits along Jumeirah Beach and attracts travellers combining leisure time in Dubai with fine dining and coastal activities. An evening event may be a convenient addition to a shorter city stay or a wider Gulf itinerary.
Yacht travellers should arrange land transfers independently rather than assume that a restaurant's beachfront location provides suitable berth access. Dubai's maritime facilities, transfer timing and local regulations vary by marina.
Bookings and important distinctions
The advertised date is 7 November, with the early reception priced separately and the dinner served à la carte. Four Seasons has not described the drinks price as an all-inclusive evening ticket, so guests should verify the current menu and total likely spending before booking.
Entertainment and restaurant arrangements may change, and reservations are prudent for a special occasion. The official Four Seasons press announcement provides the programme details, while the restaurant should confirm final availability and dietary arrangements.
