An adults-only concept inside two resorts

Aimbridge All-Inclusive has launched Amaná Retreat at Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana and Wyndham Alltra Samaná in the Dominican Republic. Announced on 14 October 2026, the concept creates reserved accommodation, dining and relaxation areas for adults within two established family-friendly resorts. The initiative is not the opening of separate hotels and does not change the age policy across every part of either existing property.

The approach gives travellers a choice between more private surroundings and the broader range of facilities offered by a larger resort. Adults holidaying with extended family may be able to spend part of their day in quieter spaces before joining relatives for meals or excursions. Guests must book a qualifying Amaná room and check the specific access rules rather than assume all facilities are available with an ordinary reservation.

Punta Cana includes 120 dedicated rooms

Amaná Retreat at Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana covers 120 rooms and suites across two buildings. Categories include tropical-view accommodation, junior suites and larger two-bedroom suites. The operator has introduced private check-in, dedicated butler service and an adults-only beach section supported by its own beach concierge, giving qualifying visitors an alternative to the main resort's busier shared areas.

Those services are designed to make the stay more personal, but they should not be confused with exclusive control of the entire coastline. Travellers should ask which rooms qualify, what assistance the butler service includes and how the reserved section connects with the general resort. A family booking multiple room types will want to establish where different members can meet during the day.

Punta Cana food and wellness privileges

At Punta Cana, guests in Amaná accommodation are offered à la carte breakfast and lunch at Costa Azul and access to adults-only dining at Brasas Steakhouse. A daily Mixology Lounge Experience is advertised as complimentary. Additional in-room touches include robes, slippers, an upgraded minibar and a welcome gift reflecting Dominican traditions, intended to distinguish these rooms from standard resort accommodation.

The operator also lists complimentary hydrotherapy access and a twenty-percent reduction on spa treatments. That discount does not mean the treatments themselves are free. Travellers interested in a particular restaurant or spa service should confirm opening hours, reservations and charges before arrival. The available choices will be affected by the actual operating schedule during the dates of a visit.

The Samaná retreat has 149 rooms

At Wyndham Alltra Samaná, Amaná takes a slightly different form, with 149 rooms in designated buildings. Accommodation includes adult-only junior suites with king or double beds. The resort provides private in-room check-in and a host or concierge to help organise the stay, creating a more personalised experience within the larger property on the Samaná Peninsula.

The reserved outdoor areas include an adults-only pool and beach with extended pool hours. The official source photograph shows guests at the VIP pool looking towards the sea, accurately illustrating the environment being promoted. It does not prove that every individual room enjoys precisely that view or direct pool access. Guests should check their chosen room's position and configuration.

Samaná offers its own dining programme

At Samaná, Amaná guests can arrange à la carte breakfast at Cosecha and access adults-only dining at UMI. Preferred reservations at other resort restaurants and a dedicated poolside snack menu give travellers additional choices. In the afternoon and evening, the operator is promoting a signature cocktail experience and sunset DJ sessions reserved for Amaná guests.

The welcome experience includes locally influenced amenities, among them mamajuana, a traditional Dominican drink. While the retreat name is shared by both resorts, these details show that the offer has not been copied identically from Punta Cana. Guests should compare the actual services for their destination rather than rely on a general description of Amaná privileges.

Private spaces with broader resort access

Amaná is designed to give adults a dedicated area without requiring them to give up the facilities at a family-friendly resort. That arrangement differs from staying at a completely adults-only property, where younger guests are not present anywhere. It allows visitors to select a quieter pool or restaurant while still having the option to join the host hotel's other activities and entertainment.

This may be useful for multigenerational holidays, as adults can choose some experiences independently while sharing the broader trip with their group. Exact age policies and access arrangements remain important, especially when relatives are booked in different room categories. Travellers should ask which venues permit mixed-age parties and whether advance bookings are necessary.

Two Dominican coastal destinations

The two Wyndham Alltra properties sit in different parts of the Dominican Republic. Punta Cana is associated with a major tourism district and large-scale resort infrastructure, while Samaná offers a different coastal landscape with coves and a peninsula setting. Aimbridge has used the same new concept at both locations without claiming that their surroundings or activity options are interchangeable.

Visitors deciding between them should consider flight routes, transfer times, the types of excursions they prefer and the mood they want from a holiday. The hotel release concentrates on the adults-only retreat features rather than specifying universal transport arrangements. Independent tour operators, conditions at sea and availability of particular experiences may all affect the practical choice.

Choosing the right Amaná reservation

The new retreats emphasise dedicated guest service, private outdoor facilities and dining options, but the precise package differs between Punta Cana and Samaná. A booking should state the Amaná accommodation category clearly, along with the age policy, included services and any supplements. It is worth checking spa prices, restaurant reservations and the rules for use of the host resort.

For guests, the strongest feature may be the flexibility of enjoying quieter adults-only spaces without leaving a full-service family destination. The October announcement introduces this new choice at two existing hotels, rather than replacing their established wider programmes. The appropriate option will depend on personal preferences, the travelling group and the verified privileges attached to an individual reservation. Guests should also confirm cancellation policies and available travel dates directly with the resort.
