America's Cup returns to Naples
The Louis Vuitton 38th America's Cup programme will take place on the Bay of Naples in 2027, bringing foiling race yachts, world-class crews and major international sailing competitions to the Italian city. The Louis Vuitton Cup challenger series begins on 22 May 2027 with an opening weekend of AC75 fleet racing and is due to finish by 4 July. The Youth America's Cup runs from 2 to 6 June, while the Women's America's Cup is scheduled for 5 to 9 July.
The Louis Vuitton 38th America's Cup Match begins on 10 July 2027, with the final outcome to be determined by the racing; organisers have reserved dates up to 19 July. The match pits the victorious challenger against defending champion Emirates Team New Zealand.
Boats and teams
The event will feature the foil-borne AC75 yachts, with five sailors aboard under the revised class rules and battery-assisted controls for key systems. Preliminary competitions and youth and women's racing also involve the smaller AC40s.
